Abstract

The invention relates to a semi-automatic acceleration system for motor vehicles and machinery. The inventive system can be used to associate speed targets with different positions of the accelerator control device instead of fuel delivery values. Moreover, with said system, it is possible to impose a maximum programmable limit for the acceleration/deceleration of the motor vehicle, while enabling acceleration values proportional to the movement of the accelerator control device if the limit is reduced. Said maximum limit can be automatically or manually switched off whenever necessary, such as to produce a limitless acceleration response. According to the invention, the fuel delivery is adjusted automatically according to the speed target and/or, where applicable, the maximum programmed acceleration/deceleration, for which purpose a regulating system with refuelling is used. The invention comprises a control unit and the peripheral elements thereof. Said invention can be used for all motor vehicle elements (vehicles, trains, aircraft, ballistic devices, etc.) and machinery, regardless of the type of energy used to power the motor thereof.
