Abstract

The present invention relates to a hot air diffuser capable of being installed on radiators of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation, aimed at aspirating the air heated by the radiator and then recycling it in the central part of the room with forced expulsion, after filtering, humidifying and perfuming it. The diffuser comprises a hollow body that houses a fan with electrical actuation engine, designed to aspirate the hot air through an aspiration opening located on the back of the body and recycle it in the room through the expulsion opening located on the front of the body.

Description

Description
Hot air diffuser for radiators In heating systems with thermosiphon circulation
The present patent application for industrial invention relates to a hot air diffuser capable of purifying, humidifying and perfuming the air that goes through it.
The purpose of the present invention is to increase and improve the propagation of the hot air generated by ordinary radiators of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation.
Another purpose of the invention is to realise an air diffuser capable of filtering, humidifying and perfuming the hot air that is aspirated and recycled in the room. The diffuser according to the present invention is an absolute novelty, since no similar devices are available in the specific technical sector of the known art.
The diffuser of the invention is composed of a box-shaped body with basically vertical development, fixed with suitable fixing brackets onto the frontal wall of an ordinary radiator of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation.
The back of the body has one or more holes for hot air aspiration. The hot air is aspirated inside the diffuser body by an electric fan with horizontal axis housed inside the body. The front part of the electric fan has an opening used to expulse the hot air aspirated by the diffuser and recycle it in the room. A grille formed of a radial series of modelled blades is mounted on the expulsion opening.
Under the electric fan the body comprises a high, narrow tank, whose mouth can be reached thanks to a suitable opening on the front of the diffuser body. In this way the tank can be filled up with the desired substance without extracting it from the diffuser body.
The tank is filled up with water in order to directly humidify the hot air flow that goes through the diffuser and perfume it, if deodorant substances or essences are added to the water. The airflow is purified with a filter mounted inside the diffuser body. The structural configuration and the operation modes of the diffuser according to the present invention will become more evident through the description below, with reference to the enclosed drawings, which are intended for purposes of illustration and not in a limiting sense, in which:
- Fig. 1 is an exploded axonometric view of the hot air diffuser of the invention;
- Fig. 2 is an axonometric view of the diffuser of the invention installed on an ordinary radiator of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation. - Fig. 3 is a cross-section with an axial plane of the diffuser of the invention fixed onto an ordinary radiator of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation;' this figure also shows the direction of the hot air inside the diffuser;
- Fig. 4 is an axonometric rear view of the diffuser of the invention. With reference to the aforementioned figures, the diffuser of the invention comprises a hollow body (1 ), preferably made of moulded plastic material, with basically vertical development, capable of being fixed, with suitable fixing brackets (S), onto the front part of an ordinary radiator (R) of heating systems with thermosiphon circulation, as shown in Fig. 2. More precisely, the body (1 ) is formed of a front box (2) and a. rear lid (3).
The box (2) houses an electric fan (4) that aspirates the air heated by the radiator through a grille (3a) on the lid (3) and then recycles it in the room through an expulsion opening (2a) located on the front wall of the box (2). The expulsion opening (2a) incorporates a grille (2b) formed of a radial series of deviating distorted blades, which are also designed to improve the performance of the electric fan in terms of prevalence. The box (2) houses a high, narrow tank (5), shaped as a bag, which is exactly housed in a suitable compartment (2c) located on the bottom part of the box (2), under the expulsion opening (2a). The compartment (2c) has a curved profile and protrudes from the flat wall of the box (2), so that the mouth (5a) of the tank (5) can be reached through a slot (6) located on the top of the compartment (2c), which can be described as a marsupial protuberance of the box (2), with a vertical slot (2d) used to control the level of the liquid contained in the tank (5) made of transparent plastic material.
The support frame of the electric fan (4) is fixed with screws to the lid (3), which is in turn fixed to the box (2) with screws (7). On the upper border the lid has two lateral holes (3b) used to insert the brackets (S) formed of two hooked rod irons, used to fix the diffuser onto the radiator (R), as shown in
Fig. 2.
With particular reference to Fig. 4, it must be noted that the external side of the lid (3) is provided with ribs or protuberances (3c) that slightly detach the body (1) of the diffuser from the radiator (R), thus preventing the radiator from occluding the holes of the aspiration grille (3a ).
The box (2) laterally houses the electrical switch (8) that actuates the electric fan (4), whose operation is indicated by an indicator light (9) housed in a suitable slot (2e) of the box (2).
Number (10) identifies a filter located between the grille (3a) and the electric fan (4).
No detailed information is given on the realisation of the electrical circuit, since the same can be easily designed by those who are expert in the field of electrical systems.
In view of the detailed description, the assembly and operation modes of the diffuser according to the present invention can be easily imagined.
The diffuser of the invention is placed on the radiator (R) and anchored with the fixing brackets (S) supplied with the diffuser. In order to humidify and perfume the room, the tank (5) can be filled with water and deodorant substances from the mouth (5a) located on the front of the box (2).
The diffuser of the invention is turned on by pressing the switch (8).
In a more sophisticated version of the invention, the diffuser can be provided with an electric fan with variable speed and a potentiometer used to change the air flow generated by the diffuser.
Finally, it must be said that the diffuser of the invention, including the case in which the tank (5) is not filled up with water, is able to increase and improve the propagation of hot air in the central part of the room, as well as increase the thermal exchange of the radiator thanks to the acceleration of the ascending air flow that touches the radiator during its cyclic convective motion.
