Description

A GLASS FOR HERBAL DRINKS
This invention relates to a disposable glass in which a ready drink is provided by adding water onto drink extracts such as tea that diffuse into water.
In the prior art, passengers especially in the busses on long journeys are given a plastic or paper glass accompanied by dry tea in a separate tea bag for preparing a tea drink. This situation leads to various problems since glasses and tea bags need to be saved separately.
In the design with registration No. 8407, being one of the applications in the prior art, a tea bag is placed under a grid on the base of the glass. In order to keep the bag and grid stable on the base of the glass, a trivet is attached onto them. In this design, filling dry tea into bag firstly, and then mounting the bag onto the base of the glass together with the grid are the factors that make the production difficult.
In the Turkish patent application No. 2000/03586, being another practice in the prior art, a tablet box into which a drink extract is put is disclosed. However, the production cost is increased because of the material used for the box in this practice. Furthermore, a solution for the transfer problem could not be found since the glass and box are separate.
The purpose of this invention is to provide a glass consisting of small number of parts, and needs less material for production thereof.
Another purpose of this invention is to provide an economical and easy-to- produce glass. The glass produced in order to reach the purpose of this invention is shown on the attached drawings;
Figure 1 is the cross-sectional view of the glass according to the invention.
Figure 2 is the exploded perspective view of the glass.
Figure 3 is the perspective view of a different application of the grid.
Figure 4 is the perspective view of another application of the grid.
Figure 5 is the exploded view of the application with barrier and groove
Figure 6 is the exploded view of the application with pin.
Figure 7 is the exploded view of the application with cover.
The parts on these figures have been numbered separately and their names are given below:

The product of the invention is a glass (1) characterized by a pool (4) formed by surrounding by a wall (3), which rises inwards from the base and which is separated by a cavity (8) from the side wall to be able to place herbal drink extracts (7) such as tea; a label (5) that is bonded on the barrier and that covers over the pool completely, and a grid (10) comprising a handle (6) positioned on the side of the label in order to be able to pull out the label and placed under the label in a way that it covers over the extract.
The tea extracts obtained from vegetables with leaves such as black tea, rose hip, and extracts obtained from fruits (7), or any mixture of these extracts are put into the pool (4) formed on the base of glass, without filling them in any bag.
The glass (1) is a single-use glass preferably produced from plastic or cellulose. However, it may possibly be produced from another material such as glass, porcelain, wood, or metal.
The pool (4) may have any geometrical shape such as square, rectangle, triangle, or circle.
The width of the cavity (8) separating the pool (4) and the sidewall of the glass may preferably constant or variable on various points.
The grid (9) covering over the drink extract placed in the pool (4) is in the shape of a basket. It has a plastic ring, which surrounds upper side of the grid and which is used to fix it to the pool. In order to fix the grid to the pool, the grid is seated on the upper side of the wall (3), and boiled by cold laser. However, in order to provide a better sealing, a grade (2) is situated in the inner part of the upper side of the wall (3) on which the plastic ring to be seated, and the grid is fixed to this place from its upper side.
In another application of the invention, mushroom shaped pins (12) are added to the bottom surface, and holes (13) are added to the upper surface of the ring, and the grid is fixed to the pool by putting the pins into the holes. Yet in another application of the invention, the ring of the grid extends downwards in conformity with the shape of the pool. In this situation, since the grid surrounds tightly the pool inwardly or outwardly no fixing operation is needed. However, if a stronger structure is desired, the grid should be fixed to the pool inwardly or outwardly by rotating the grid like a cover, forming grooves (14) or barriers (15) in/out of this extension, and forming barriers or grooves in/out of the pool wall.
Especially when black tea is used, fine powders of the tea pass through the grid holes, and diffuse into the water added, and form a filthy appearance. To prevent this, a filter (9) is added to the underside of the grid. This filter preferably is made ofpaper.
Yet in another application of the present invention, a cover (11) made of plastic or cellulose is used instead of the label.
When using the glass of the present invention, firstly the label or the cover is removed by pulling out its handle, and cold or warm water is added over the grid covering over the pool. By diffusion or dissolution of the drink extract into the water in the pool, drink gets ready to be used.
The glass of the present invention is a practical, easy-to-use and easy-to-save product. Its production is simple and economical since it has a small number of parts.
