Abstract

The invention relates to a protector arrangement (12) for a downlight (20). In one embodiment, the protector arrangement (12) is arranged for use with a downlight (20) having a transformer (18). The protector arrangement includes housing means (12) arranged to be located relative to a surface (26) of a wall or ceiling, and to shield the components of the downlight. The housing extends beyond the surface into a wall or ceiling space when the downlight is mounted in the wall or ceiling. The protector arrangement also includes means (16) for locating the transformer (18) so that the transformer is protected from direct contact with any material in the wall or ceiling space.
