Abstract

Display controllers for multi-panel LCDs (202, 204, 206) include row scanners (208) associated with red, green, and blue image color components. The row scanners are configured to scan a row, a set of rows, or all rows of a panel associated with a selected color component, and then scan corresponding rows, sets of rows, or all rows of panels associated with additional color components. The display controller can be configured to store and retrieve color component data using a row buffer or a frame buffer. Column drivers can be configured to drive a set of column scanners (210) associated with display rows for all color components, or to drive separate sets of column scanners (210).
