Abstract

The inventive display furniture item comprises a body (11) with a glass top (12). At least two base surfaces (21,22) are arranged inside the glass top (12). In order to prevent burglaries, active drive means and passive guiding means (20) are engaged on the base surfaces (21,22). The drive means move the base surfaces (21,22) from a retracted position in a vertical shaft of the body of the furniture item into an extended position (20.1) inside the glass top (12). The guiding means (20) fix the path of said movement. The longitudinal axes (44, 45) of the display base surfaces are offset (46) in relation to each other in an extended position in the direction of the width of the glass top (12), thereby enabling the customer to observe the displayed goods in a fine manner. When the base surfaces (21,22) are in a retracted position in the shaft, said surfaces are arranged on top of each other in a space-saving manner, thereby enabling space to be gained. Description

Presentation furniture for high quality goods such as jewelry

The invention is directed to presentation furniture of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1. In order to present the high-quality goods attractively on the one hand and to protect them effectively on the other hand, these goods are arranged on two stacked, mutually offset presentation floors, which are located in a glass top on the Furniture body.

However, this protection is not sufficient in all cases. The glass top can be destroyed by violence, which means that the goods can be removed from the presentation floors by unauthorized persons. This danger is primarily caused by so-called "lightning breaks", where motor vehicles enter the sales rooms and the glass attachments in the presentation furniture break open due to the impact. To prevent this, the presentation floors had to be cleared in good time after close of business laborious presentation of the goods required on the floors.

In the case of a counter for baked goods (DE 197 38 063 Cl), two presentation shelves are rigidly connected to a slide, which can be transferred in a guide from an entry position in the furniture body to an extension position in a glass top. The longitudinal axes of the two presentation shelves are always aligned with each other. A manhole cover is missing. This piece of furniture is not suitable for presenting high-quality goods such as jewelry.

In a device for preventing theft in jewelry displays (GB 693 559), it is known to provide a shaft in the bottom region of a window with a flap which is normally kept closed by a blocking means. If the pane is broken, the locking means releases the flap and the jewelry lying on the flap falls into the shaft, where it is made inaccessible by closing a second flap. This device does not allow an attractive presentation of the jewelry. In addition, the displays on the flap are limited in space and do not allow the display of numerous pieces of jewelry.

The invention has for its object to develop a presentation furniture of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, which, if necessary, protects the goods on the presentation furniture well. This is achieved according to the invention by the measures set out in claim 1, which have the following special significance.

The invention proposes providing active drive means on the one hand and passive guide means on the other hand on the presentation shelves. The active drive means ensure that the presentation shelves move between an extended position in the glass top and a retracted position in the furniture body, while the passive guide means determine the way in which this is done. A vertical shaft is arranged in the furniture body, which can be armored, in which the presentation shelves disappear in the retracted position. The shaft opening is closed at least in the retracted position of the presentation shelves by a shaft cover. A vertical motor drive, which acts on the lower presentation floor, is used as the drive means. Handlebars are used as guide means, which connect the presentation shelves to one another and are arranged at their two longitudinal ends. At least one of the handlebars has an arm extension with a guide member which engages in a guide groove on the inner side wall of the furniture body. This guide groove runs at least in some areas in the width direction. As a result, the presentation shelves with their longitudinal axes are in the retracted position in the Lay the shaft one above the other in a space-saving manner, but are offset from each other in the extended position in the width direction of the glass attachment.

In the event of a break-in, the presentation shelves with the valuable goods on them automatically disappear into the furniture corpus, which may be strengthened like a safe. Then the glass top is empty, which prevents burglars from violent intrusion. If necessary, sensors could be provided which, in the event of violent break-in attempts in the glass top, subsequently set the drive means effective and, via the guide means, ensure that the fitted presentation shelves in the furniture body disappear.

The furniture 10 comprises a furniture body 11, above which a glass attachment 12 is arranged. Normally, there are two display shelves 21, 22 arranged one above the other in the glass top 12, which consist of shells which are open at the top and the inside of which serves to hold high-quality goods, such as jewelry.

As can be seen from the longitudinal section of FIG. 3, the two presentation shelves 21, 22 can have an essentially matching shelf length 23. Two links 26, 27 engage on the two opposite floor broad sides 24, 25, the ends of which have articulated connections on the floor broad sides. In the present case, the two links run parallel to one another, which is why they can also be referred to as “parallel links”. One link 27 is provided with an arm extension 28, on which there is a guide member 29, which in the present case consists of a simple guide pin, which engages in a guide groove 19. The latter components 19 and 26 to 29 are components of special passive guide means 20 which interact with active drive means 30 to be described in more detail.

The active drive means 30 comprises a lifting mechanism consisting of two drive halves 31, 32, which is provided with a vertical motor drive. These two drive halves 31, 32 are, as can be seen from the core of the invention shown in FIG. 3, on opposite side walls 13, 14 of the furniture body 11 arranged. Both drive halves 31, 32 have a matching structure, best seen in FIG. 1. They comprise a stationary spindle 33 with an engaging spindle wheel 34, which is invisible in FIG. 1 and therefore dashed, which is rotatably mounted in a carriage 35 which can best be seen in FIG. 2. The carriage 35 is fastened to a base plate 15, which in the normal case, as shown in FIG. 1, covers a shaft opening 41, to be described in more detail, of a vertical shaft 40 provided in the furniture body 11.

The carriage 35 is guided between two rails 36 running parallel to the spindle 30, specifically by means of rollers 37 indicated in dashed lines in FIG. 2 and engaging therein via needle bearings. The components 33 to 37 are components of a preassembled structural unit that is open on one of its long sides Spindle housing 38 is held together. It can be seen from FIG. 3 that the spindle housing 38, which is box-shaped here, sits on the side walls 13, 14 of the furniture body 11. In the furniture body 11 there is the already mentioned vertical shaft 40, which has safe-strengthened walls towards the two side walls 13, 14 towards the front and rear wall 16, 17 and towards the furniture floor 18, which, apart from the shaft opening 41, has a closed wall Form the safe core 42 according to FIG. 1. In the presentation position of FIG. 1, the two floors 21, 22 are located outside the shaft 40 in the glass attachment 12. They assume an “extended position” identified by the auxiliary line 20.1 in FIG. 1.

The lifting mechanism 30 and the guide means 20 now ensure that, after the drive motor 50 has been switched on, the two floors 21, 22 reach an “entry position” marked by the auxiliary line 20.2. These provide intermediate support for the shaft 56. Such intermediate bearings 48 could also be provided in the area of the spindle wheel shaft 39 shown in FIG. 3 in some cases.

It goes without saying that in the case of furniture 50 or 60, further presentation shelves could also be arranged above the floor 22. In this case, it would be sufficient to extend the handlebars 26, 27 accordingly upwards and to use them to link these wide floors. The links 26, 27 do not have to run parallel to one another, but can also be inclined to one another. In addition, more than two handlebars could provide the connection between the two floors 21, 22.
