Description

MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING CARDBOARD BLANKS
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to devices and machines fit for working cardboard bands, for the goods and products packaging and wrapping. Particularly the invention refers to a machine for manufacturing cardboard blanks, having different shape and dimensions, starting from a cardboard band.
BACKGROUND ART
There are known automatic machines fit to cut, to punch and to crease cardboard sheets or band in order to manufacture blanks fit to carry out package for the product packaging. Said machines are very complex including a plurality of suitable operating means, which perform in sequence the different operations on the cardboard band.
The main drawback of said known machines consists in that they are mainly fit for the production of cardboard blanks very restricted in shapes and dimensions. In order to manufacture blanks with different shape and different forms as many suitable machines are required, with a consequential increase of the purchase and management costs, or expensive and difficult adjustment and configuration operations are needed for making said machines fit for the production of different cardboard blanks.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to propose a machine for manufacturing cardboard blanks, which is versatile and flexible and fit to carry out a huge range of cardboard blanks having different shape and dimensions, without the necessity to adjust or set the machine.
Other object is to propose a machine fit for manufacturing in an inexpensive and fast way cardboard blanks, reducing to a minimum to the material waste and conspicuously reducing the manufacturing times of some cardboard blanks for packages.
Further object is to propose a reliable machine with high speed and, at the same time, safe for the operators.
The above-mentioned object are achieved according to the claim content.

BEST MODE OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
With reference to figures 1 to 4 and 7 to 9, numeral 1 indicates the machine for manufacturing cardboard blanks 100 from at least a cardboard band 101, object of the present invention and substantially constituted by feeding means 2, shearing means 3, first creasing means 4, punching means 5, second creasing means 6 and trimming means 7 of the cardboard blank 100.
The punching means 5 are constituted by a plurality of cutting elements 20, each of which is driven by a respective first actuator means 21, according to a direction almost orthogonal to the moving direction of the band 101, between an idle condition A, in which said cutting element 20 is detached from the band 101, and a punching condition F, in which it mates the band 101 for punching the latter.
Each cutting element 20 has corresponding idle rotating stop means 22, which is fit for supporting the cardboard blank 100 and for mating cutting element 20, in the punching condition F. The stop means 22 consists of a metallic circular ring, slidably connected to a rotation shaft 24.
The punching means 5 further include a plurality of first translation means 23 fit for transversally moving the punching means 5, to allow the position adjustment, according to type and dimensions of the cardboard blanks. Particularly, each cutting element 20 and the related stop means 22 are constrained to a respective first translation means 23, through belt means 25 of known type.
The machine 1 further include cutting means 10, interposed between the second creasing means 6 and the trimming means 7 and fit to longitudinally cut the cardboard blanks 100. The cutting means 10 are provided with two cutting elements, upper 11 and lower 12, opposed and aligned, at least one of which, preferably the upper cutting element 11, is moved orthogonally to the moving direction of the cardboard blanks 100 in the machine 1, between a non operating condition R, in which said moved cutting element 11 or 12 does not contact the cardboard blanks 100 and an operating condition T, in which it cuts the cardboard blanks 100.
The cutting means 10 include support means, first 13 and second 14, connected to the machine 1 and rotatably supporting the cutting elements, respectively upper 11 and lower 12. Particularly in the preferred machine embodiment, the first support means 13 is constituted by a support arm 18 of the upper cutting element 11 which is slidably connected to a support element 19 and is moved by second actuator means 16 along a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the cardboard blank 100.
The cutting elements, upper 11 and lower 12, of the cutting means 10 preferably consist of a circular blade, provided with cutting edges with complementary shapes 15, such to be partially superimposed in the operating condition T.
The actuator means, first 16 and second 21, are constituted by respective pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders or by electric linear actuators.
The machine 1 is totally controlled by electronic calculation and control means, fit for controlling the relation phases among the feeding means 2, the shearing means 3, the first creasing means 4, the punching means 5, the second creasing means 6, the cutting means 10 and the trimming means 7.
It is opportune to underline that the machine 1 allow manufacturing cardboard blanks having different shapes and particularly, as illustrated in figures 10A-13C, the longitudinal cutting on a cardboard blank 100, allow quickly and economically carrying out, respective cardboard blanks, by which it is possible to form a plurality of different packages, for instance covers and bottoms, without the need to adjust or configure the machine.
The machine operation provides that the band 101, inserted in the machine 1 by the feeding means 2, is cut suitably cut according to predefined dimensions and shapes by the shearing means 3. The portion of band or cardboard blank 100 so achieved is then creased and punched respectively by the creasing means, first 4 and second 6, and by the punching means 5. The trimming means 7 provide to perform finishing operations on the cardboard blank 100, which is so available for forming or erecting operations, for instance operated by a following forming machine, for carrying out a related package.
The cutting means 10, interposed between the second creasing means 6 and the trimming means 7, execute, if necessary, one or more longitudinal cuts on the cardboard blank 100, which allow to get from a same cardboard blank 100 two or more variants for different corresponding packages.
The variant of machine 1, shown in figures 5 and 6, has second translation means 17, slidably connected to the machine 1, which are fit to transversally move the support means, first 13 and second 14, to allow the transversal positioning of the cutting means 10, according to the shape and dimensions of the cardboard blanks.
The operation of said machine variant does not differ from that of the preferred embodiment.
The main advantage of the present invention is that to provide a machine for manufacturing cardboard blanks, which is versatile and flexible and fit to carry out a huge range of cardboard blanks having different shape and dimensions, without the necessity to adjust or set the machine.
Other advantage is that to provide a machine fit for manufacturing in an inexpensive and fast way cardboard blanks, reducing to a minimum to the material waste and conspicuously reducing the manufacturing times of some cardboard blanks typologies for packages.
Further advantage is that to provide a reliable machine with high speed and, at the same time, safe for the operators.
