Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing sanitary objects made of a plastic material having galvanically metallised surfaces, wherein an electric non-conductive covering layer or protective layer is applied before galvanic metallisation by an external current source on at least one part of the surface. Said application of the layer takes place preferably before the total galvanic treatment such that the application can be carried out advantageously according to the known run-through principle. The part of the surfaces which are provided with said layer corresponds preferably to at least one part of the water-guiding areas of the sanitary object.
