Abstract

'Smart Vehicle Break Lights' automatically turn on break lights when key is in contact position or engine is running, and vehicle does not move. Any moving of vehicle will turn off break lights, except when break pedal is pressed. 'Smart Vehicle Break Lights' automatically signalise that the vehicle is stopped, in the way compatible to traffic regulation. 'Smart Vehicle Break Lights' is realised using microcomputer, speed and moving sensors already built in vehicle. Implementation by dedicated control unit and dedicated moving sensor is also possible.

Description

SMART VEHICLE BREAK LIGHTS
Vehicle Break lights
According to traffic regulations all vehicles are equipped with break Ughts. Break Ughts alert others that break pedal is pressed, and vehicle decreases the speed. Until recently, vehicles were equipped with 2 break Ughts. To increase safety, 3rd break light was added. Today flashing break Ughts are used in case of rapid use of breaks.
But, besides all of this, in cases of low visibility and situations where vehicle has to be stopped at places where others do not expect it, many drivers forget to hold break pedal pressed. Vehicle is stopped but break Ughts do not signalise it to others. All traffic participants are exposed to danger. Background Art
Today almost aU vehicles are equipped with ABS (Anti Block System) and microcomputer that controls functioning of aU vital parts of vehicle. Microcomputer is suppUed with precise information about vehicle moving and speed, and at the same time it can turn on/off break Ughts. Disclosure of the Invention
"Smart Vehicle Break Lights" automatically turn on break Ughts when key is in contact position or engine is running, and vehicle does not move. Any moving of vehicle will turn off break Ughts, except when break pedal is pressed. "Smart Vehicle Break Lights" automatically signaUse that the vehicle is stopped, in the way compatible to traffic regulation.
"Smart Vehicle Bre^k Lights" can be realised by microcomputer that is suppUed with speed and moving information from sensors. Moving sensors used for ABS, or speed sensors that are already built in vehicle can be used. Microcomputer that is already used in vehicle can be additionally programmed for "Smart Vehicle Break Lights" function.
Implementation by dedicated control unit and dedicated moving sensor is also possible.
