Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de stockage d'énergie comprenant une électrode positive à base de nickel, une électrode négative à base de carbone, un séparateur et un électrolyte aqueux. L'électrode positive contient entre 3 et 95 % en poids d'hydroxyde de nickel, le reste étant choisi dans le groupe constitué par: de la poudre de nickel, de la poudre de cobalt, de la poudre de carbone et des mélanges de ceux-ci. L'électrode négative contient entre 10 et 95 % en poids de carbone, le reste étant constitué par au moins un couple redox. L'électrolyte est une solution alcaline aqueuse et le séparateur est choisi dans le groupe constitué par : un matériau séparateur en nylon non-tissé, du polypropylène microporeux, du polyéthylène microporeux et des combinaisons et mélanges de ceux-ci. Le couple redox est généralement choisi dans le groupe des couples redox actifs qui contiennent comme matière active de l'oxyde de bismuth, de l'oxyde d'indium, de l'oxyde de cobalt, de l'oxyde de fer, de l'hydroxyde de fer, des hydrures de métaux des groupes IIIA, IIIB, IVA, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB et VIII du tableau périodique, des hydrures de mischmetal, des oxydes de mischmetal et des combinaisons de ceux-ci.
