Abstract

A heat exchanger (20) comprising a process tube (22) attached in heat conducting contact with a hydronic tube (24). The process tube (22) has a plurality of hydraulically discrete internal passageways (36) that extend through the process tube (22). The hydronic tube (24) has at least one passageway (52) that extends through the hydronic tube (24). Optionally, the process tube (22) can be sandwiched between a pair of hydronic tubes (24) so that two heat transfer surfaces (32 amd 34) on the process tube (22) are in heat conducting contact with heat transfer surfaces (46 and 48) on each of the hydronic tubes (24). Also optionally, the heat exchanger can include a plurality of process tubes (22) that are sandwiched between a plurality of hydronic tubes (24) with each process tube (22) being disposed between a pair of hydronic tubes (24). The attached tubes can be shaped into a variety of configurations depending on the application in which the heat exchanger will be used.
