Abstract

The aim of the invention is to create or facilitate a liquid metal outflow which is evacuated by gravity or under pressure in a capacity via an orifice which is placed in a lower part. The invention relates to a device which creates a liquid metal outflow through a mass of refractory sand for protecting the discharge aperture when it is unable to be naturally evacuated by gravity or pressure. Said device comprises a propulsion, rotation and percussion system which is placed under the discharge aperture and which can be included in the moveable liquid metal jet protection part. The energy required for the proper movements of the device can be electric, pneumatic or combined. The inventive device is particularly suitable for improving the opening of pockets of liquid metal.
