Description

Toilet brush holder
The present invention refers to a toilet brush holder, which is provided to fix a toilet brush in position on a wall or on the floor in a toilet or in a bathroom where it is used.
On the market today there are a number of different types of toilet brush holders and one of the problems existing with these holders is that the brush easily can be loosened by children, which thereafter can reach a contaminated one to play with it and eventually also push the brush into their mouth. Besides dangerous bacteria the child in this case also can bring in rests of dangerous or poison cleaning liquids. In the case a common standard brush is stored in its holder on the floor the brush rests against the bottom of the same, where there is often liquid rests from earlier cleanings. When a person later on shall use the brush it comes drops from the same on its way to the toilet chair. It is also unpractical having a brush in a holder on the floor, since it very easy can be tilted, so that the eventual liquid pours out and it stands as an obstacle when the floor shall be cleaned. One reason for that a loose standing toilet brush with holder on the floor is used today is that you don't fasten a wall fixed holder if you are not sure in the possibility to buy new .brushes, which can be fitted into the same in the future.
The object of the present invention is to provide a .new toilet brush holder of the type mentioned above, by which earlier drawbacks enumerated above and by which previously known structures have, now have been eliminated. The characterizing features of the present invention are set forth in the following claims.
Thanks to the invention a toilet brush holder now has been provided, which in an excellent way fulfils its purposes at the same time as it furthermore is both cheap and easy to manufacture.
By the unique structure of the toilet brush holder according to the invention, a solution has above all been obtained, by which the brush is very difficult to loosen by a child. The reason of that is that the brush can be screwed downwards or pushed down into a spiral in the housing of the holder and this spiral functions as threads. A small child can with other words after down screwing or down pushing of the brush into the spiral not loosen the same while a grown up person very easy can think out how the holder functions, thanks to that the design reveals its function. The spiral also fixes the brush into position a distance above the bottom of the holder, which means that it cannot contact the bottom or eventually on the same present liquid, whereby the brush has a possibility to dry out.
The toilet brush holder according to the invention can be fasten preferably on a wall and since the spiral becomes thinner in a direction downwards, it keeps brushes of the most common dimensions and also those having a so called "below edge brush". The holder can always be in its place on the wall and when needed you only bye a new brush of any fabricate, since the holder can fix in position the most types of toilet brushes existing on the market .
The invention is described closer below by the aid of a preferable embodiment example in view of the drawings enclosed, in which
fig. 1 schematically illustrates a toilet brush . holder according the invention having in the same fixed toilet brush in position, fig. 2 illustrates a schematic side view of an alternative embodiment example of a spiral, which extends upwards above the housing and which is provided with fastening means for the fixing in position of the holder as well as the spiral,
fig. 3 illustrates a turned side view of the spiral according to fig. 2,
fig. 4 illustrates a view from above of the spiral according to fig. 2 and 3,
fig. 5 illustrates a side view the housing having a fastening extension for fastening of the same at the fastening portion of the spiral, which in turn is intended to fix the whole toilet brush holder on a wall,
fig. 6 illustrates a turned side view of the housing according to fig. 5 and
fig. 7 illustrates a view from above of the housing according to fig. 5 and 6.
As can be seen from the drawings a preferable embodiment example of a toilet brush holder 1 according to the present invention is illustrated, said holder 1 consists of a spiral 3 of metal or plastic provided in a housing 2. The upper portion 4 of the spiral 3 has a diameter, which mainly corresponds to the diameter of the brush hair 9 of a commonly existing toilet brush 7, said spiral 3 decreases diameterally in a direction downwards in the housing 2. The lowermost portion 5 of the spiral 3 thus gets smaller conically in the housing 2, so that from a portion 10 near the bottom 6 again become larger over a short distance and then with its free end 11 terminate in a support against the bottom 6 of the- housing 2. By this solution the toilet brush holder 1 is fixable into position on a distance above the bottom 6 of the housing 2.
In the example illustrated here the housing 2 consists of a material, which is totally or partly transparent. This material can be made of plastic, glass or the like. Furthermore the housing 2 can be fastened against a wall by aid of suitable fastening means 8 and by aid of which also the housing 2 easily can be loosened for cleaning.
The extension of the spiral 3 in a direction downwards in the housing 2 mainly corresponds to an elongated, thread formation extending conically in a direction downwards having a relatively large thread high, whereby after pressing down or screwing down the toilet brush 7 in the spiral 3 the toilet brush 7 is in a screw formed way very easy to loosen in a direction upwards from the spiral 3.
An alternative embodiment example of the spiral 3 according to the invention is illustrated in fig. 2-4 and in fig 5-7 is illustrated how the housing 2 can be formed having a fastening- extension 12 for fixing of the same in position at the fastening portion 13 of the spiral. The spiral 3 is here formed in one piece and extends outwards through the opening of the housing 2 and downwardly behind the casing 2 with its fastening portion 13. Hereby the whole ' toilet brush holder 1 can easily be fixed to a wall by aid of a screw not illustrated in the drawing, which can be fastened between the fastening portions 15, 16, which delimit a fastening opening 14 and said portions 15, 16 are resilient in 'a direction towards each other. A distance downwardly on the fastening portion 13 fastening ears 17 and 18 are formed for cooperation with the fastening extension 12 on the mantle surface of the housing 2 and for fixing in position the housing 2 at the spiral 3, which in turn fixes the whole toilet brush holder 1 on a wall. In providing an easy turnably application of the housing 2 at the fastening ears 17, 18 the free ends 19, 20 of which are turned outwards.
The toilet brush holder 1 according to the invention is thus used in such a way that a toilet brush 7 after use either can be pressed down into the spiral 3 or be screwed downwards into the same, whereupon the toilet brush 7 in a safe way is kept in place in the housing 2 in a distance from the bottom 6 of the casing 2. In this way the brush 7 has a possibility to get dry, since eventual liquid on the bottom 6 of the housing 2 cannot reach the brush hair 9 of the brush 7. When the toilet brush 7 shall be used the user just turns the same in a direction upwards in the thread formation, whereupon the spiral 3 loosens its fixation of the brush 7. After use the toilet brush 7 is again placed into the housing 2 in such a way that it is turned or pushed down into the spiral 3 such a long distance that the spiral 3 "grasps" the brush hair 9 of the toilet brush 7.
