Abstract

A heat-sensitive recording material having a support and, formed thereon, a heat-sensitive recording layer containing an electron-donating colorless dye and an electron-accepting compound which reacts with the electron-donating colorless dye to effect coloring. Preferred embodiments include an embodiment wherein the electron-accepting compound is a compound represented by the formula: R1-Ph-SO2R2, an embodiment wherein it exhibits a maximum curl height of 5.0 mm or less, an embodiment wherein an image density is 1.20 or more when the image is heat-printed with an application energy of 15.2 mJ/mm2 from the heat-sensitive recording layer side of the support, an embodiment wherein a static coefficient and a dynamic coefficient between the front surface of the material having at least one above heat-sensitive recording layer and the back surface thereof are in the range of 0.2 to 0.5, and an embodiment wherein the layer contains a pigment exhibiting an oil absorption for a boiled linseed oil of 30 to 200 ml/100 g and having a volume average particle diameter of 0.5 to 3 μm, and the material is used in a recording device capable of heat-printing at a rate of 10 cm/sec or more.
