QUILT
The subject of this invention is the quilt that may also be used as a feather-bed, used in principle for free covering, whose parts not covering up directly the body of a sleeping person usually rest freely on the bed adjoining it mainly by its weight, the quilt consisting of the proper quilt and alternatively of the quilt-case in which the proper quilt is placed.
At the existing stage of technological progress, unlike the sleeping bags that may be fastened around the sleeping person, in principle flat, its shape is usually approximate to the rectangular with a size suitable for covering the sleeping person from the feet to the head. Quilt parts that do not cover directly the body of a sleeping person usually rest freely on the bed, on the bed-sheet, adjoining it mainly by its weight, thereby, they protect the sleeping person against the loss of heat. Quilt parts, mainly in way of one of the shorter edges of its rectangular, are designed for covering the top parts of the human body, approximately up to the height of the mouth or chin. When the human body is covered by quilt above the
mouth, breathing is made difficult. However, such maximum covering of the human body when breathing is not made difficult does not usually provide that shoulders are sufficiently covered up. A slot created between the quilt edge and the bed-sheet mainly cools shoulders. The slot is created as a result of covering of the part of the body whose anatomic spatial solid makes it difficult to accurately cover up in principle with a flat quilt. Moreover, hands of a sleeping persons resting on the bed-sheet, in particular, in the position when they are placed above the head are exposed to cooling down or freezing because of lack of covering the up with a quilt without simultaneous covering up of the face or head.
The essence of the solution according to the invention is the quilt used in principle for free covering, whose parts which do not cover directly the body of a sleeping person usually rest freely on the bed adjoining it mainly by its weight, the quilt consisting of the proper quilt and alternatively of a case in which the proper quilt is placed, the quilt which is characterised by it that the case and the proper quilt have, in the part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body, the oval or polygon cut-outs for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing ; in the subject quilt the cut-out in the case may have a shape of the full closed oval or polygon ; in the subject quilt the cut-out in the proper quilt may have a shape of the full closed oval or polygon ; the quilt may have an element for fastening the quilt part that is bendable and put away on the quilt, whose bending line passes in the area of cut-outs for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing as well as has a fastener for detachable fastening and unfastening of the quilt part provided for
covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt.
The quilt in the solution according to the invention allows obtaining an unobvious result consisting in that it is possible to effectively cover up and protect the shoulders and hands sleeping person against the loss of heat, in particular, when they are laid on the bed-sheet in the position above the head. Hands laid in such position during the sleep if not covered up like other parts of the body,, i.e. by a quilt are exposed to an unpleasant cooling down, which may be the reason of sleep disturbances or may bring about the change of the body position during the sleep. Owing to the cutout made in the part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body, owing to the cut-out provided for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing, the quilt is suitably profiled for the effective covering up of shoulders; the quilt in principle flat owing to the cutouts obtains a geometrical shape which enables to effectively cover up the body parts with anatomically irregular spatial structure.
In addition, effective covering up of shoulders and hands laid in the rest position on the bed-sheet above the head is obtained when the cut-outs in the case or in the proper quilt provided for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing have a shape of the full closed oval or polygon.
The maximum dimension of a given quilt model according to the invention, because of the possibility of covering up shoulders and hands laid in the position above the head, may be greater than the maximum dimension of the identical quilt model according to the
existing state- of technology. However, this quilt owing to the fact that it has:
- an element for fastening the quilt part that is bendable and put away on the quilt, whose bending line passes in the area of cut-outs for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing,
- a fastener for detachable fastening and unfastening of the parts of the quilt provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt,
enables to easily change its shape into a commonly known shape approximate to the rectangular; it facilitates spreading of the quilt on the bed of a standard length adjusted to the quilts currently in use or using it in the form with outside overall dimensions approximate to the quilts currently in use.
The subject of the invention is diagrammatically shown on the drawing, on which:
- Fig. 1 shows the view of spread quilt used in principle for free covering up of a sleeping person, consisting of the case and the proper quilt placed therein; the case and the proper quilt have, in the part used for covering up of upper parts of the body, the cut-outs for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing; the quilt has an element for fastening the quilt part that is bendable and put away on the quilt, whose bending line passes in the area of cut-outs for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing;
- Fig. 2 shown the view of the spread quilt used in principle for free covering up of a sleeping person, consisting of the case
and the proper quilt placed therein; the case and the quilt have, in the part used for covering up of upper parts of the body, cut-outs used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing, and the cut-out in the case has a shape of the full closed oval; the quilt has a fastener for detachable fastening and unfastening of the quilt part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt;
- Fig. 3 shows the view of the spread quilt used in principle for ree covering up of the sleeping person, consisting of the proper quilt without case; the proper quilt has, in the part used for covering up of upper parts of the body, a cut-out used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing, and this cutout has a shape of the full closed oval; the quilt has a fastener for detachable fastening and unfastening of the quilt part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt.
The quilt according to the invention in the first example of make shown on Fig. 1 , consists of the case 1 and the proper quilt 2 placed in the case 1; the case 1 and the proper quilt 2 have, in the part used for covering up of the upper parts of the body, the cut-outs 3 and 4 used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing; the quilt has also the element 5 for fastening the_quilt part that is bendable and put away on the quilt, whose bending line 6 passes in the area of cut-outs 3 and 4 used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing; For instance, a button, snap-fastener, clasp, burr- fastener, etc may be used as fastening element.
In the second example of the quilt make shown on Fig. 2 the quilt consists of the case 1 and the proper quilt 2 placed in case 1; the case 1 and the proper quilt 2 have, in the part used for covering up of the upper parts of the body, the cut-outs 3 and 4 used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing, and the cut-out 3 in the case 1 has a shape of the full closed oval; the quilt has a fastener for detachable fastening and unfastening of the quilt part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt; for instance, a zipper or burr-fastener, etc may be used as fastening element.
In the third example of the quilt make shown on Fig. 3 the quilt consists of the proper quilt 2 without a case; the proper quilt 2_has, in the part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body, the cut-out 4 used for placing therein a head or neck or for breathing, and this cut-out has a shape of the full closed oval; the quilt has the fastener 7 for detachable fastening and unfastening of the quilt part provided for covering up of the upper parts of the body from the remaining part of the quilt.
