Description
"CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO ESCAPE LADDERS FOR ELEVATORS"
The present report refers to a constructive arrangement applied to escape ladders for elevators, of the type described and claimed in application PI 0000587 of February 02nd, 2000, of the same applicant.
According to the aforementioned patent application, the escape ladder applied to elevators aims at allowing the quick escape of persons with total safety in cases in which the elevator stops between one floor and another, either due to power failure or equipment problems. The escape ladder is coupled under the elevators lower floor and basically comprises a rigid support structure formed by a rail-shaped profile frame, to which an articulated and telescopically closed ladder is adapted. Therefore, the objective of the present innovation is to provide a constructive arrangement applied to escape ladders for elevators, in which it is contemplated an articulated ladder fixed under the elevators lower floor and that can be used by any person outside the elevator, whenever the elevator stops between one floor and another, and when the elevator's opening allowing the escape of people be positioned on the floor below.
The present innovation is displayed in three constructive variants, and on the first version the articulated ladder is also articulately fixed to the elevator's anterior-interior face, and vertically positioned under its lower floor, having its parts fixed by a fixation system to be
released by the person who will help the persons inside the stopped elevator.
In a second version, the ladder is articulated and has a telescopic closing that enables it to, in a fully closed position, slide into a drawer fixed under the elevator's lower floor.
In a third and last version, a escape ladder is defined by the very escape access anterior lid positioned under the elevator lower floor. The referred lid is endowed of a plurality of stairs, and it can be defined by a double face allowing to obtain a bi-articulated ladder with sufficient extension to reach the ground.
In all versions herein presented, the escape ladder is used whenever the elevator stops between one floor and another, if its opening allowing the persons escape be positioned directed towards the floor below. The escape ladder can be used by any person outside the elevator.
Thus defined, the escape system using a escape ladder coupled to an elevator to allow the escape of persons confined inside an elevator stopped between one floor and another is totally safe, practical and quick, and for a better understanding of this innovation herein claimed it will be described below with reference to the attached drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of an elevator incorporating a escape ladder according to a first preferred constructive version; Figure 2 is an elevate side view of the same elevator of Figure 1 , showing the ladder in the closed position;
Figure 3 is an elevate side view of the same elevator of Figure 1 , showing the ladder in the use position;
Figure 4 is a perspective view of an elevator incorporating a escape ladder according to a second preferred constructive version; Figure 5 is an elevated side view of the same elevator of Figure 4, showing the ladder in the use position; and
Figure 6 is a perspective view of an elevator incorporating a escape ladder according to a third preferred constructive version, with the referred ladder fully extended for use. According to these illustrations mentioned above, the constructive arrangement applied to a escape ladder for elevators in question is conceived in three versions, and the first version illustrated in Figure 1 to 3 is defined by a bi-articulated ladder (10) fixed on its upper end to an articulated element (11) positioned under the elevator (12) lower floor. The ladder in the retracted position is folded at its articulation point and vertically positioned under the elevator, begin fixed in this position by a coupling element (13). When the elevator (12) stops between one floor and another and positions part of its door opening directed towards the floor below, any person outside the elevator can manually release the coupling element (13) of the ladder and pull the former outside, in order to fully extend it and to stay it on the floor pavement; this way, the referred ladder will fully cover the elevator well access, avoiding accidents. According to a second version schematically illustrated in Figure 4 to 5, the ladder (10) is defined on the very access lid (14) to the ladder
that is positioned under the elevator (12) lower floor. The referred lid is endowed with a plurality of stairs, and it can be defined by a double face allowing to obtain a bi-articulated ladder with sufficient extension to reach the ground. According to a third version schematically illustrated in Figure 6, the escape ladder (10) is articulated at three points and is kept, when in its retracted position, inside a drawer (15) placed on the access lid (14) to the ladder fixed under the elevator (12) lower floor. The ladder (10) in question has its upper end articulately fixed inside the drawer (15), and in the retracted position it is folded at their articulated points and pushed inside the drawer (15). At the moment in which the elevator stops between one floor and another with its escape opening directed towards the floor below, a person located outside it will pull the ladder outside and will mount it so that it be positioned and stayed on the pavement of the floor where the elevator is stopped.
Thus defined, the constructive arrangement applied to the escape ladder in question fixed under the elevators lower floor can be conceived in several forms, without going beyond the scope of the present innovation.
