Abstract
An occlusion device used for reproduction of the jaw movement, particularly occlusion movement, of the human body when fabricating a prosthesis, the device comprising an upper jaw frame and a lower jaw frame for disposing an upper jaw pattern and a lower jaw pattern, and a condylar ball disposed between the upper and lower jaw frames, and a condyle box, the device having a center axis switching mechanism for switching the center axis of an opening so as to eliminate restrictions on the opening angle imposed by abutment between the condyle box and the condylar ball during the opening movement in the central occlusion position of the upper and lower jaw patterns. The center axis switching mechanism allows the condyle box to avoid being caught by the condylar ball during the opening movement in the central occlusion position, making it possible to secure a sufficient opening angle. Further, during the closure of the upper jaw frame, the center axis is switched in a manner reverse to that when it is opened, whereby it can be brought back to its original occlusion position. Thus, the opening and closing movement is possible while maintaining the central occlusion position with satisfactory reproducibility. This makes it possible to fabricate a satisfactory prosthesis, correctly reflecting the jaw movement of the human body, improving the operability of each part of the occlusion device, enabling accurate occlusion adjustment, and easy for the user to use.
