Abstract

The invention concerns catalytic compositions comprising a zeolite and methods for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) using said catalytic compositions. The inventive catalytic compositions comprise a ferrierite type zeolite (FER), which has been subjected to an ion-exchange with a rare earth selected among cerium, praseodymium, samarium, terbium, europium and ytterbium, said zeolite capable of being in particular Ce-H-Fer. Said compositions are very active in selective catalytic NOx reduction even if the reaction is produced in the presence of water and sulphur compounds.
