Description

The invention relates to a flat product for skin and / or wound treatment and for baby care, in particular a cotton pad, with at least one treatment area.
Products of this type are widely used for applying or removing cosmetic products or else for treating wounds, such as dabbing off wound secretions, and can also be used for baby care. When using the known products for the stated purposes, defective product properties with regard to the absorption and / or release of additives, such as cosmetics and / or wound secretions, are frequently observed. Furthermore, damage in the form of cracks or the like occurs in many cases when the known products are used.
In view of the problems in the prior art explained above, the object of the invention is to provide a flat product of the type described at the outset, which shows satisfactory product properties for different uses, while at the same time ensuring sufficient product stability. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a further development of the known products, which is essentially characterized in that the product has at least two outer surface areas with different properties.
This invention is based on the astonishingly simple finding that satisfactory product properties can be ensured under different conditions of use by the fact that the product itself has product areas optimized for different conditions of use. The two outer surface areas can each be a treatment surface. Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the outer surface areas can also be designed as a reinforcement of the product, in order to prevent damage during use. Overall, the products according to the invention therefore enable adaptation to different operating conditions on the one hand and increased stability on the other.
To provide the desired properties, the outer surface areas can differ from one another in terms of their material, their structure and / or their color. In this context, particular consideration is also given to those embodiments in which outer surface areas which differ from one another in terms of their material and / or their structure are characterized by a corresponding coloring.
Within the scope of the invention, provision is also made for the provision of flat products in which a boundary surface has two different outer surface areas. Particularly with regard to cost-effective production, however, it has proven to be particularly expedient for the outer surface areas to be formed in the region of opposing boundary surfaces of the product, preferably to form these boundary surfaces completely, because such products are realized in a particularly simple form as a laminate or layer structure can. In view of the generally desired high skin tolerance, it is particularly advantageous if at least one of the outer surface areas consists essentially, ie at least 50%, of cotton. Within the scope of this invention, however, the use of such embodiments is also contemplated, in which one of the outer surface regions consists of 100% cotton, while another outer surface region has other fibers with a proportion of 50% or more. In particular, for the use of products according to the invention for removing cosmetic products, it has also proven to be advantageous if at least one of the outer surface areas, for example made of cotton, has a profiling or creasing or a different surface structure, for example by bombarding a corresponding one Cotton layer can be generated with water jets or is achieved by other suitable technological measures.
Depending on the intended use and / or in order to maintain satisfactory stability, the product according to the invention can also have at least one outer surface area which consists at least partially of synthetic fibers. Particularly favorable properties can be achieved if this outer surface area consists at least partially of a fleece, in particular polyester fleece. Furthermore, in the context of the invention, the use of covers formed at least partially from cellulose is also considered as the outer surface area. This invention also covers the use of nonwovens in mixtures of synthetic and / or natural fibers, it being possible for all of the nonwovens which can be used in the context of this invention to be thermally, chemically and / or strengthened with water jets. Nonwovens with masses of 15 g / m 2 and above can be used. As already explained above, at least one of the outer surface areas can be colored in order to enable a reliable differentiation of the different outer surface areas. In particular when using products according to the invention with an outer surface area formed from cotton fibers, it has proven to be advantageous to obtain a satisfactory stability if this outer surface area has a carded fiber web in which the individual fibers are oriented in a preferred direction.
It has already been explained at the beginning that products according to the invention can be produced particularly easily with a layer structure in terms of production technology. The layer structure in the case of products consisting at least partially of cotton fibers has a cotton layer having at least one cotton layer. With a view to maintaining good stability while at the same time ensuring satisfactory absorbency, it has proven to be particularly advantageous if the cotton layer has at least two carded cotton webs, between which a random fleece is arranged, or all layers consist of carded webs. The stability can be increased without impairing the suction properties of the cotton layer if two carded layers of cotton are arranged on each side of the tangled fleece. If the product according to the invention has an outer surface consisting at least partially of synthetic fibers, the layer structure can be implemented particularly easily if at least one preferably colored polyester fleece is provided in the above-mentioned fleece variants. A further increase in the stability of products according to the invention can be achieved if at least one layer of the layer structure is preferably consolidated with a water jet consolidation system. A method for producing products according to the invention with an outer surface area consisting of cotton fibers is explained below by way of example. Cotton is used as raw material in the form of fiber bales for the manufacture of the product. These fiber bales are opened with the help of roller openers and box feeders and - broken down into fiber flakes. The fiber flocks are then transported pneumatically via pipes to the filling layers of a total of 4 cards. A total of four fiber webs that can be used to produce products according to the invention are produced with these cards. An additional layer of the product according to the invention is prepared with a further unit (random fleece card Rando). Another type of cotton is opened with this unit and a so-called tangled fleece is produced. Next, a cotton layer is produced from the four fiber webs already present and the random web, in which the random web is arranged between two cotton webs (underlay / top layer) as an intermediate or middle pile. The two bottom sheets each have a mass per unit area of approximately 15 g / m 2 . The top web or nonwoven layers preferably have approximately the same basis weight. It has proven particularly expedient if the intermediate layer has a mass per unit area of 170 g / m 2 . The total basis weight of the cotton fleeces is then 230 g / m 2 . In the next manufacturing step, this cotton layer is covered with a layer forming a further outer surface area with the desired material properties. For example, a colored polyester fleece in the above-mentioned fleece variants with a mass per unit area of 30 g / m 2 can be used. Then the finished product consists of two individual materials, namely a cotton layer and a polyester fleece. These individual materials can be brought into a water jet consolidation system via conveyor belts and solidified there. The solidification is expediently carried out with a water pre-pressure of 10 bar for the pre-moistening and in each case 38 bar for the upper and lower layers. In addition, the boundary surface of the cotton layer not covered with the polyester fleece is bombarded with water jets so as to achieve a grooving (groove spacing 1-4 mm by the water jets formed. The product thus obtained has an outer surface made of cotton with a grooved structure and a second, the first The bombarded and still water-enriched fleece is then dried to a residual moisture content of 3% in a sieve drum dryer at 140 ° C. The intermediate product thus obtained is made into four individual rolls, each with a width of The individual rolls are wound up into a length of 450 running meters / roll. The base material obtained in this way is then introduced into suitable punching devices, where the finished pads are punched out. This processing is expediently carried out with several processing tools, such as i n a 3 hole punch. The residual material remaining after the punching process is subjected to a separating process in which the two layers, namely the polyester fleece and the cotton layer, are separated from one another. The fleece layer is wound up separately. The cotton layer goes into the material cycle and is used there in particular to produce the intermediate layer.
As explained above, the process for producing products according to the invention is essentially characterized in that two layers or layers with different properties are laminated and, if appropriate, subjected to a further treatment. These layers can be consolidated before, during and / or after the lamination process, for example with a water jet consolidation system. Furthermore, at least one of the layers can also be provided with a structuring, such as a groove structure.
However, the invention is not limited to products manufactured using the manufacturing method explained in detail above. Rather, the use of products is also contemplated in which the polyester fleece is replaced by another fleece consisting at least partially of synthetic fibers or by cellulose. Furthermore, in some cases it is sufficient if only one of the layers is consolidated, and the consolidation and / or structuring can also be achieved with other measures, such as with a roller press or the like. Finally, the mass per unit area of the individual nonwovens can vary, whereby the range of variation for each fleece can reach 50% or more of the stated values. Particularly good results are achieved if the range of variation is less than 20%, in particular less than 10%, with respect to the stated values.
