Abstract

In order to improve the transmission rate and transmission quality there is provided a method of signalling link control information concerning the physical layer technology to be used for transmission of data between radio devices of a radio data network, wherein the link control information includes extension profile data which represent link capabilities of one of said radio devices. Thus, the transmission modes can optimally be adapted to the radio channel by choosing an appropriate physical layer extension profile according to the capabilities of the radio devices in an accurate manner.
