Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft Verfahren zur Vereinzelung der Mikroorganismen aus einer Suspension oder Kultur, der parallelen Kultivierung der vereinzelten Zellen und der Analyse ihrer Stoffwechselleistungen. Mit der Erfindung können mikrobielle Grundoperationen wie Medienoptimierung, Screening nach Bildern neuer Naturstoffe und spezieller Stoffwechselleistungen, qualitativer und quantitativer Nachweis der Wirkungen von Nährsubstraten, Effektoren und Wirkstoffen einschliesslich der Medienoptimierung sowie die Selektion von Mikroorganismenklonen mit bestimmten Eigenschaften aus hochzahligen Populationen nach Mutagenese, Transformation, Transfektion und gentechnischer Bearbeitung sowie der Nachweis von mikrobiellen Kontaminationen durchgeführt werden. Die Erfindung ist mit besonderem Vorteil immer dann anwendbar, wenn aus einer vielzahligen Population Mikroorganismen mit herausragenden Eigenschaften jeweils als Einzelzellen oder Einzelorganismen gewonnen und als Reinkulturen charakterisiert werden sollen, oder wenn die Wirkung von Einflussgrössen an vielen, untereinander vollständig vergleichbaren Kulturen untersucht werden soll.
