Abstract

An optical train(lO) for transmitting light from a light source(14) to at least one display module (37) in a fiber optic based display(12) system is described. According to an exemplary embodiment, an optical train(10) may include a first conduit(26) having an input aperture(24) for receiving light and an output aperture(31); a first ferrule(33) attachable to the output aperture(31); and, at least one illumination conduit(29) having a proximal end (29a) and a distal end(29b) , the proximal end(29a) being coupled to the first ferrule(33), such that light transmitted through the output aperture(31) may be directed along the at least one illumination conduit (29) .
