Description

Electronic Air Conditioner
The subject of the invention is an electronic air conditioner built based on Peltier elements and having application as a common-use appliance for conditioning of air in dwelling rooms occupied by people, in particular cabins of automobile vehicles.
The air conditioners used hitherto operate on the basis of compression and expansion of gas media having high destructive potential on ozone and causing the greenhouse effect.
The objective of this invention is the developing and practical use of highly efficient semiconductor elements in air-conditioning equipment, eliminating all negative effects of the use of gases harmful for the natural environment.
This objective has been achieved as a result of developing the electronic air conditioner, intended for cooling of air in rooms, in particular cabins of automobile vehicles, which has cooler made in form of a box without front walls, whereas its sidewalls are provided with inner finning (ribbing), with air-flow channels formed between fins, and Peltier elements fixed on outside of said sidewalls. Said sidewalls, together with the Peltier elements, are bound around by a closed-profile section, which forms a cooling medium canal. The electrically connected Peltier elements are powered from separate current source and the cooling-medium canal is supplied by forced circulation of the cooling system.
The electronic air conditioner has the cooler 1 made if form of box without front walls 2, whereas its sidewalls 3 are provided with inner finnings 4, which form air-flow channels 5. On outside of the sidewalls there are Peltier element 6 fixed to said sidewalls, and the sidewalls with Peltier elements 6 are bound around by closed profile section, which forms a canal 7 of cooling medium, i.e. preferably the liquid which receives the heat energy generated in consequence of current flowing through operating Peltier elements 6. This heat is extracted to the environment by means of forced cooling system 8. The cooler 1 is tightly mounted in the tunnel 9 so that air, flowing through it, shall be directed exclusively through air channels 5, formed by the inner finnings 4, giving up the transported heat through said finnings. The functioning of the electronic air conditioner is controlled with microprocessor system 10, which, by means of its measuring and executing systems, selects suitable input parameters to optimise the air-conditioning efficiency and performance. The power-supply function of the cooler 1 is realised by the current source 12, i.e., in case of automobile vehicles, an additionally mounted a.c. generator with a filtration and voltage-stabilisation systems.
