Abstract

Les coupleurs optiques actuels posent de nombreux problèmes, tant par leur taille et leur coût élevés que leurs pertes importantes, car ils nécessitent au moins un synthétiseur polarisant, un coupleur WDM et des fibres optiques en excès pour introduire une lumière excitée dans des fibres dopées erbium afin d'obtenir une excitation par la sortie. Ces problèmes peuvent être résolus grâce à un procédé et de couplage optique et à un coupleur optique à excitation par la sortie, dans lesquels la fonction de coupleur WDM, la fonction de polarisation/synthèse, la fonction d'isolation ainsi que la fonction d'isolation pour protéger la source de lumière d'excitation sont mises en oeuvre conjointement par un élément isolant. Le coupleur optique comprend : un collimateur SMF placé du côté entrée de l'élément isolant ; et un collimateur SMF ainsi qu'un collimateur fibré à maintien de polarisation (PMF) placés du côté sortie, de sorte que la lumière d'excitation est introduite à partir du collimateur PMF. Cette construction permet de mettre en oeuvre un coupleur optique à excitation par la sortie, qui tient dans une enveloppe de dimensions égales ou inférieures à 41 mm x 25 mm x 7 mm.
