Abstract

The invention relates to a method for purifying exhaust gases containing particulate impurities or nitrogen oxides. The exhaust gases are purified by a filtering matrix which is simultaneously regenerated. The filtering matrix is regenerated by a gas flow or air flow which is weak in relation to the exhaust gas flow. Preferably, the regeneration gas is preheated. The different functional regions are successively crossed. The inventive method can, for example, be carried out with rotating elements. The different functional areas are thus successively crossed by means of rotation.
