Description

EYEGLASSES SUITABLE FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING CELLULAR TELEPHONE CALLS Technical Field
The present invention relates to a pair of eyeglasses suitable for transmitting and receiving cellular telephone calls. Disclosure of the invention
The aim of the present invention is to provide eyeglasses that in addition to the normal optical and/or sunlight protection function are capable of constituting a means for transmitting and receiving cellular telephone calls. Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide eyeglasses that can be worn just as easily and comfortably as conventional ones.
Another object is to provide eyeglasses that can be used with any kind of cellular telephone.
Another object is to provide eyeglasses whose devices for transmitting and receiving cellular telephone calls are integrated, so as to avoid varying their ergonomic performance.
Another object is to provide eyeglasses whose structure allows industrial- scale manufacture at competitive costs.
This aim and these and other objects that will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by eyeglasses, comprising a frontpiece which supports lenses, to the ends of which temples are articulated, characterized in that they comprise a microphone in the front part, at least one earpiece adjacent to one end of a corresponding temple, connection wires inside at least one temple, and a connector for a cable for connection to a cellular telephone.
Brief description of the drawings
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the following detailed description of an embodiment thereof, illustrated only by way of non-limitative example in the accompanying drawings, wherein: Figure 1 is a rear perspective view of eyeglasses according to the invention;
Figures 2 to 4 are enlarged-scale views of details of the eyeglasses of Figure 1; Figure 5 is a view of a detail of a further embodiment of the invention.
Ways of carrying out the Invention
With reference to the figures, a pair of eyeglasses according to the invention is constituted, in a conventional manner, by a frontpiece 10, which supports the lenses 11 (of a type suitable to correct defects or of a type that provides protection against sunlight), to the ends of which temples 12 are articulated.
According to the invention, the eyeglasses comprise a microphone 13 located in the internal front part that is not in view, at least one earpiece 14 adjacent to an end 15 of a corresponding temple 12, connection wires 16 arranged inside the structure, and a connector 17 for a cable 18 for connection to a cellular telephone 19.
More particularly, the microphone 13 can be integrated in the front part of the corresponding temple 12 (Figures 1 to 4) or integrated in the frontpiece 10 (reference numeral 113 in Figure 5), in which case at the corresponding hinge 20 it is necessary to provide electrical contacts, not shown in the figure, for continuity.
The earpiece 14 can be arranged at the end of an extension 21 made of plastically deformable material, which diverges from the end 15 of the corresponding temple 12. This is done to allow the user to perform personalized orientation and positioning of the earpiece 14.
The material of the extension 21 can be plastically deformable metal or a plastic material such a rubber co-molded on the temple 12 and containing a plastically deformable metallic core. As an alternative, it is possible to use a plastically deformable plastic material.
The passage of the connecting wires 16 is of course provided inside the extension 21.
Such wires, like the wires for the microphone 13, are in fact embedded in the plastic material, in the case of eyeglasses having a plastic frame, or are located inside hollow regions of the structure, in the case of eyeglasses having a metal structure.
As regards the connector 17, it is of the female type and is embedded in the end 15 and can be of the commonly commercially available type that is complementary to the male connectors 22 normally used in cellular telephone connections.
In practice, it has observed that the intended aim and objects of the present invention have been achieved.
The eyeglasses in fact are entirely similar in appearance to normal sight- correction eyeglasses or sunglasses and can be used normally for this purpose, with the additional possibility, for example when in a car, on a motorcycle, on a bicycle or in other cases, to connect the microphone 13 and the earpiece 14 by means of the cable 18 to a cellular telephone 19 and therefore to transmit and receive calls. The earpiece 14 can of course also be integrated directly in the end 15.
In practice, the materials employed, so long as they are compatible with the contingent use, as well as the dimensions, may be any according to requirements.
The disclosures in Italian Utility Model Application No. PD2001U000034 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by re erence.
