  • the present invention further provides a weight management method, comprising: a) measuring a weight of a person on an electronic weight scale; b) transmitting the measured weight to a computer; c) storing the measured weight in a data base portion of the computer together with a user information including a height, an age, and a sex of the person weighed; and d) displaying the measured weight on a monitor of the computer.
  • the step of (a) includes connecting the electronic weight scale to the computer; and driving a weight management software.
  • the weight management method further comprises computing a body fat using the user information of the person weighed after the step of (c)
  • the step of (d) includes displaying a weight variation, a body fat variation and a body mass index of the person weighed on the monitor of computer by the weight management software.
  • the weight management method further includes e) contacting the computer to a health-related web server through an Internet; f) transmitting the weight data stored in the data base portion together with the user information to the health-related web server; and g) providing a health-related consult based on the weight data from the health-related web server to the computer.
  • the measured weigh data are transferred from the electronic weight scale to the computer via a USB.
  • the present invention has the following advantages. Firstly, since a weight change and a BMI of a person weighed are continuously checked, a weight management and a health can be performed. Secondly, due to the USB, a data transmission rate between the electronic weight scale and the computer is significantly improved. In addition, since various health-related devices can be connected to the computer, a wide practical application can be achieved. Thirdly, since the weight data stored in the data base portion can be provided to, for example, health-related web sites, the user can be provided with a service such as a health consult and a health advise from the health-related web sites.
  • the inventive electronic weight scale is lower in cost than that having a memory, and also there is no limitation to the number of the user to be managed.

  • the microprocessor 140 then converts the raw digital number into a weight.
  • the microprocessor 140 controls the USB controller 142 to transfer measured weight data to computer 200 via the USB cable 300. At this point, the weight can be observed by an observer through an output device optionally arranged, e.g., a liquid crystal display (LCD) device.

  • a user can systemically manage his/her weight using the weight management software 214.
  • the weight management software 214 is programmed to show a weight variation of a person weighed, e.g., through a graph on a monitor 230, and to show a body mass index (BMI) of a person weighed.
  • the weight management software is also programmed to compute a body fat of a person weighed using measured weight data, a height, an age, a sex, and so on, and to show a body fat variation. As a result, a user can check his/her diet state and discriminate whether he/she is obese or not by himself/herself.
  • the UBS port 220 accepts the USB cable 300.
  • the weight management software 214 can recognize the electronic weight scale 100. Meanwhile, various input/output devices are connected to the computer 200.

Firstly, since a weight variation, a body fat variation and a BMI of a person weighed are continuously checked, a systemic weight management and a systemic health care can be performed. Secondly, due to the USB, a data transmission rate between the electronic weight scale and the computer is significantly improved. In addition, since various health- related devices can be connected to the computer, a wide practical application can be achieved. Thirdly, since the weight data stored in the data base portion can be provided to, or example, health-related web sites, the user can be provided with a service such as a health consult and a health advise from the health-related web sites.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une balance électronique comprenant une cellule de pesage générant un signal de poids analogique correspondant au poids d'un objet, un amplificateur servant à amplifier ledit signal de poids analogique, un convertisseur analogique-numérique servant à convertir le signal de poids analogique en un signal de poids numérique, et un microprocesseur servant à convertir le signal de poids numérique en un poids. Le microprocesseur permet de commander un dispositif de commande USB pour transmettre le poids à un ordinateur par le biais d'un câble USB.
