Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Überprüfung von Wertdokumenten, insbesondere von Banknoten (5), Etiketten, Wertpapieren, Briefmarken oder Identifikationskarten. Es kommt bei herkömmlichen Verfahren zu einem hohen Prozentsatz von Fehlern. Die Erfindung hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, ein Verfahren zur Erkennung von Banknoten, Etiketten, Wertpapieren, Briefmarken und Identifikationskarten zu schaffen, welches eine sichere und schnelle Erkennung von Fälschungen ermöglicht, wobei die Identifizierung und Überprüfung tolerant gegenüber Positionsänderungen des Wertdokuments, insbesondere gegenüber Änderungen der Entfernung sein soll. Es wird vorgeschlagen, ein Wertdokument mit einer elektromagnetisch wirksamen Struktur (1) zu versehen, das Wertdokument einem elektromagnetischen Hochfrequenzfeld auszusetzen, die Beeinflussung des elektromagnetischen Hochfrequenzfeldes durch das Wertdokument zu messen, das Ergebnis der Messung mit Referenzdaten zu vergleichen. Weiterhin ist eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens Gegenstand der Erfindung.
