Abstract

An optical coupling for mounting one or more fibres (12) on a substrate comprising a fibre block (8) to which each of the fibres (12) is secured and a substantially planar substrate with a recess (7) provided therein, the fibre block (8) being mounted in the recess (7) to mount the fibres on the substrate.
