Abstract

The invention relates to a system for indicating the state of wear of tires and the quality of rolling of the vehicle. The system is characterized in that two of more strips of the same material, normally rubber, are inserted during the manufacturing process of the tire, said strips being pigmented using different methods and the colors being easily distinguishable in relation to the normal color of the tire.

The present specification refers, as its title indicates, to a system to indicate the state of wear of the tires, as well as the quality of the vehicle's bearing, for any of those existing in the market, designed to provide this information to simple view, and without the need of any suitable device for this purpose.

With use and bearing, the tire wears progressively until the decrease in adhesion is such that it reduces safety in driving the vehicle to limits below what is advisable. The evacuation of water, when driving in wet floor conditions, is less if the tire is excessively worn, producing the phenomenon called aquaplanning, reducing safety conditions. In work or all-terrain vehicles, and in general in all others, the traction force of them is also reduced with excessive tire wear.

It is also known the need to change the arrangement of the wheels of the vehicle, to balance their irregular wear due to the traction effect.

At present there is no system, which spontaneously, and without the need for measuring devices, indicates the state of tire wear.

Nor is there any system that, at a glance, provides us with information on the quality of the tire balance. The system consists of the insertion of two or more bands in the tire of the same material, usually rubber, pigmented with different methods in colors of easy distinction with respect to the usual one of the wheel, which is generally black.

The coloring or pigmentation of the bands would be carried out by adding specific dyes to the rubber, which did not alter the properties thereof, proceeding to the coloration or pigmentation at the appropriate time of the manufacturing process thereof.

These bands would be located in the tire concentric to the axis of rotation of the wheel and would be of a specific thickness at each point in a direction parallel to that of the wheel support. As the wear of the tire increases, the different colors used in the coloring of the bands that could also be phosphorescent appear at a glance.

When the conditions of the wheel are normal for use, the arrangement of the bands will notify us of the different periods of the life of the tire. The different colors that appear will clearly indicate, for example in a first period, the moment in which the change of position of the tires is necessary to balance their non-uniform wear due to the aforementioned traction effects, which They are usually different at each wheel of the vehicle. There will also be a second period in which the combination of colors will notify us of the recommendation of the change of tires, arriving at a third period of warning in which the colors appeared will indicate the excessive wear of the tires, which forces the replacement of these for breaching the minimum security conditions. It will also warn us, at a glance, for the non-appearance of the expected colors of irregular tire wear, caused by problems of incorrect balancing, problems in the axis of rotation, damping, steering, and others that may cause such irregular wear.

The advantages provided by the invention lie in the simple indication of the condition of the tires throughout their useful life, at a glance, as well as in the indication to the user of the condition of the tires of the vehicle at all times, their conditions safety, indicating behavior patterns as to what to do at all times.

It also offers us the possibility of detecting other problems related to their irregular wear, such as problems of incorrect balancing, problems in the axis of rotation, damping, steering, and others that can cause this irregular wear.

The increase in the driver's degree of safety is a relevant advantage, as well as the simplicity of visualization, and the non-use of any additional instrument, of measurement or others, for the driver's verification of the condition of the tire instantaneously. To better understand the object of the present invention, a possible embodiment thereof has been shown in the attached drawing.

In that plane:

Figures 1 and 2 show two different tire sections (1) with the integrated indication system (2), composed of two colored rubber bands, so that these bands can be seen with the naked eye when they appear due to tire wear . Bands of uniform thickness (2) have been represented, since said figures 1 and 2 are representations that help the explanation of the system, although these in a real representation could have a determined thickness at each point in a direction parallel to that of the support of the wheel, for better adaptation to the characteristics recommended for said system.

Claims

1. - System to indicate the state of wear of the tires, as well as the quality of the vehicle's bearing, for any of those existing in the market, characterized by the insertion of two or more bands (2) in the tire (1) , of the same material, usually rubber, pigmented with different methods in easily distinguishable colors or phosphorescent with respect to the usual wheel, said bands (2) located in the tire concentric to the axis of rotation of the wheel, and of a thickness determined in each direction point parallel to the tire support.
