Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the cleaning of tubes by means of a flowing medium, whereby a deflector body is passed through the tube with the flowing medium, flowing through the above, with at least one solid flowing medium added to the gaseous medium. The flowing medium together with the adjunct is blown into one end of the tube, or sucked out of the tube. According to the invention, tubes with materials or coatings adhering thereto with a hardness greater than dry ice and a thermal conductivity lower than the material of the tube to which the materials or coating are adhered, are subjected to a cleaning process, whereby the gaseous medium, either dry ice alone or dry ice and additionally at least one solid flowing material is used. The method is suitable for cleaning the tubes of a sulphur condenser in a Claus plant.
