Description
PUPPY PUPPET
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention is directed to a marionette. In particular, the present invention is directed to a marionette having a flexible body configuration, an anti-tangle device, and a sound control unit.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention is directed to a marionette. The marionette includes a unibody formed by a plurality of discreet bodies connected together by a plurality of first strings. A control bar includes a plurality of buttons for sound control, and speakers for generating sound. A plurality of anti-tangle devices are attached to one end of a plurality of second strings, respectively. The plurality of second strings are connected to the unibody at a second end thereof. Furthermore, the plurality of anti-tangle devices are removably attached to the control bar.
[0003] Further scope of applicability of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description given hereinafter. However, it should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only, since various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this detailed description.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0004] The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given hereinbelow and the accompanying drawings which are given by way of illustration only, and thus are not limitative of the present invention, and wherein:
[0005] Figure 1 is a top plan view of the control bar and anti-tangle devices of the present invention;
[0006] Figure 2 is a perspective view of the marionette according to the present invention;
[0007] Figure 3 is a perspective view of the puppy puppet according to the present invention;
[0008] Figure 4 is a perspective view of the control bar according to the present invention;
[0009] Figure 5 is a perspective view of the unibody according to the present invention; and
[0010] Figure 6 is a diagramatic view which illustrates the operation of the marionette according to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0011] The present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 1 illustrates the control bar according to the present invention. The control bar 1 includes a support 3 and a plurality of anti-tangle devices 5 removably attached to the support 3. In Figure 1, the anti-tangle devices 5 are illustrated in the form of end caps having a cylindrical aperture formed therein. The end caps fit over cylindrical extensions 7 formed on the support 3. It should be understood; however, that other constructions would be readily understood to one having ordinary skill in the art. The most important factor is that the end caps are easily removable from the support 3.
Multi-Body for lively motion :
[0012] Referring to Figure 2, a preferred embodiment of the puppy puppet according to the present invention is illustrated. It should be understood to those of ordinary skill in the art that the present invention may be constructed in forms other than a puppy. [0013] The marionette according to the present invention has multiple discreet bodies 9 to make the motion very flexible. The discreet bodies are connected with strings to aid flexibility (like a backbone). However, the connected bodies appear to be a unibody, since the multiple discreet bodies are covered with hair, skin, clothing, etc. Referring to Figure 5, the understructure of the puppy is illustrated as being constructed of multiple discreet bodies 9 attached together by strings 11. As can be clearly understood from this illustration, the head, legs and tail are attached to strings 13 attached to the control bar 1 of the present invention. There are seven main ball type parts; namely, the head, the tail, the body, and four legs. The head, tail and four legs are attached to the strings 13, while the body is only attached to adjacent body parts by strings 11.
[0014] As illustrated in Figure 5, each of the individual discreet bodies 9 can be constructed of smaller bodies, which are connected together by strings 11 to form an individual discreet body 9. For example, the tail in Figure 5 is constructed of three individual smaller bodies to form a single discreet body 9.
Anti-tangle Device :
[0015] The most common problem with a marionette is tangled control strings. To solve this problem, strings 13 are attached to detachable end caps 5 and the end caps are plugged into the control bar 1 , which has several branches, (typically 6 end caps as shown in the illustration below). The end caps 5 are detachable from the control bar 1 along with the strings 13 attached thereto in order to prevent entanglement of the lines fixed to the puppet.
Sound Control Device in Control Bar :
[0016] A speaker 15 and its control device (buttons) 17 for different sounds are embedded in the control bar 1. A sound chip (not illustrated) includes pre-recorded sounds which are played through the speaker 15 by pushing different of the plurality of buttons 17. Each button 17 has assigned thereto a different pre-recorded sound which corresponds to different motions of the marionette. Each of the buttons 17 may, for example, include a barking sound, a puppy barking sound, a smelling sound, etc. However, depending upon the application, other sounds may also be provided.
[0017] Also included in the marionette according to the present invention are one or more batteries 19 in order to provide a power source for the various electrical elements. Figure 1 illustrates a preferred layout of the above components.
[0018] The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
