Description

INTERNAL ILLUMINATION SYSTEM FOR CAR PLATE.
The present invention refers to a system for car plate illumination and is related to the Brazilian Patent application PI 0004495-4 filed on September 20, 2000 to be abandoned.
The system of the present invention has advantageous features which are novel in veiw of the state of the art.
The invention comprises an automatic internal illumination system for car plates which has been technically enhanced and particularly perfomed for permit an automatic operation of the car plate illumination system, i.e., the improvements have permitted a high illumination effect for better identification of the car plate code number. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Illumination car plate systems aim to facilitate the identification of a vehicle in the night or in dark or poorly illuminated places. Common car plates have number and letters combinations which is not clearly identified in all car traffic places. In general, car plate identification are made of a metal plate having numbers and letters pressed and paint marked in its surface.
In several cases, the metallic material is not able to perform light reflection enough to permit a good identification and the absence of an efficient illumination system contributes to a bad visual effect. Natural or artificial external light sources are not sufficient to allow the identification. SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION: The system of the present invention overcomes the above limitations by having the following features: Material for manufacturing - Car plates of the present invention are made of plastic material and polymers, which make possible several ways of manufacturing and shapes and also being constituted by one or more parts, the car plate can be made by varying thickness, color, transparency and shape.
Durability - The durability of the car plate of the present invention is more than the metal car plates of the art which can be easily oxidized due to the weather or due to the polution and/or maritime air effect.
Code number presentation - Code numbers in the metal car plate are composed by numbers and letters and are generally pressed in the plate. The car plate of the present invention is made of plastic and polymeric material and it permits multiple ways of code number presentation: number pressed outwards, number pressed inwards, printed by a silk-screen system or other printing systems of the art. Illumination system - Common metal plates have no proper illumination system, thus the plate number is partially illuminated when the lantern light of the vehicle is driven. The system of the present invention has its proper illumination system, i.e., the car plate has an internal illumination system, the lamp is placed inside the plate and the light is projected through the plate and directed outwards. Supplementary safety Illumination - The car plate of the present invention also aims to provide a supplementary safety illumination, for permit other vehicle drivers see and be advised that a car is stopped ahead. This is suitable in low light conditions as dark roads, streets, rain and fog conditions, blizzard, night, etc Colors - The plate can have transparent colors, i.e., the plate can have transparent colored numbers, or transparent colored back panel, but obbeying local laws.
Automatic driving means - Natural light conditions can vary depending on the place during the day or artificially, e.g., tunnels, undergroung parking places, etc, thus the car identification is not clearly possible. The plate of the present invention has an internal illumination system which can be automatically driven, and when the light conditions are not good, the illumination system is driven by a light cell which is independently placed in the vehicle as shown in the block diagram. Anti thief alarm system - Car plate steal is becoming common, it is performed by vandals or by thieves for falsify car data. The plate of the present invention can be coupled to the anti thief alarm system since if the plate is able to receive illumination command, it is also capable of receiving alarm command. The alarm command can be driven if the protection seal of the plate is forced as shown in the block diagram.
Avoid erronious identification - Depending on the local, the light condition and the conservation state of the metal plate, an erronious identification can be done, i.e., number or letters can make some confusion in the case of the plate has bad conditions of conservation. Mistakes can occur and infraction notifications can be issued due to the bad conservation and illumination o the car plates. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS: For a clear identification of the present invention, the drawings are descripted as follows:
Figure 1 - An illustrative upper view of the plate having details of the internal illumination system; Figure 2 - This is a front view of the plate;
Figure 3 - This is a front illustrative view of a car plate having driven the internal illumination system;
Figure 4 - This is the block diagram showing the illumination system by means of lanterns a via independent light cell system having automatic driving system of the car plate when in low illumination conditions or plate robbery;
Figure 5 - This is an illustrative photographic copy of a car plate having the internal illumination system, the plate is placed in front of the vehicle; Figure 6 - This is an illustrative photographic copy having the internal illumination system, the plate is placed back to the vehicle. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
According to the drawings and its details, the internal illumination system of car plates of the present invention comprises a car plate (1), which is specially made for facilitate vehicle identification in general, the plate (1) has a proper illumination system (2) which is independent of the lantern driving means of the car. The car plate (1) can be made of plastic material and polymers the plate (1) has durability and resistance, permitting several shapes, colors and transparency, the plate also permits many combinations of letters, numbers or other types of indications and be fixed to the vehicle by the techniques of the art.
The plate (1) can be composed by one or more parts, but its in internal part is placed the illumination system (2), which can use many types of lamps of the art. The lamps can have a socket (5) being positioned vertically inside (6) or in other desired postion depending on the lamp. Illumination system feeding is provided by the energy wire of the vehicle as in Figure 4 and can be derived from the wire system (3), which is coupled by means of electrical connectors (4) positioned in any external part of the perimeter. The plate (1) can be connected to the alarm system by means of the wires (3) as in Fig. 4, the alarm system is driven is the case of robbery.
It is provided an independent illumination system via light cell, Fig. 4, for permitting automatic driving of the plate illumination when the light condition is lowered, and automatically turning off the system when the light condition is good and independently of the lantern driving means.
As illustrated and described in the present invention, the internal illumination system has all the conditions to deserve patent protection.
