Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for the transport of road vehicles by rail, in which the road vehicle is received on a loading surface of a low-floor vehicle traveling on the rail, and to a low-floor vehicle for carrying out this method.
- the object of the invention is therefore to reduce the costs for the transport of road vehicles by rail.
- This object is achieved in the method according to the invention in that the road vehicle for loading drives onto a supporting structure forming the loading area, which is then lifted together with the road vehicle and suspended between two bogies of the low-floor vehicle.
- the load-bearing structure is removed from the bogies and placed on the ground or inserted into a flat ramp structure before the road vehicle is loaded, so that the road vehicle can collide with the load-bearing structure.
- the supporting structure with the road vehicle on it is then lifted using a crane or a forklift and suspended between the two bogies. This means that the low-floor vehicle constructed from two bogies and the supporting structure is temporarily disassembled during the loading process and then reassembled.
- a low-floor vehicle suitable for carrying out the method has two bogies, which can be identical in construction to the standard bogies of normal rail vehicles.
- a detachable supporting structure, which forms the loading area for the road vehicle, is placed on the two bogies in such a way that it connects them to one another and forms the low-floor vehicle together with the bogies.
- each bogie can accommodate the ends of two supporting structures, so that only n + 1 bogies are required for a train consisting of n low-floor vehicles.
- the support structure is a flat, rigid and self-supporting bridge, which is supported with both ends on an auxiliary frame, which is rotatably arranged on the bogie.
- the subframes are designed to hold the bridge in a relatively low position so that the bottom of the bridge is lower than the top of the bogies. The bridge is then removed during loading, while the subframes remain on the bogies.
- the bridge is preferably mechanically locked to the subframe. If the bridge is provided with forklift pockets which enable the bridge to be put on and taken off with the aid of a forklift, a linkage is preferably provided for locking and unlocking, which is actuated by the forklift fork. When the fork of the forklift truck enters the forklift pockets of the bridge, the bridge is automatically unlocked so that it can be removed from the subframe upwards. Conversely, if the bridge loaded with the road vehicle is put back on the subframe and the forklift moves back, the bridge is automatically locked to the subframe.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of a low-floor vehicle for the transport of a road vehicle according to the invention:
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the low-floor vehicle according to FIG. 1, partly broken away;
- FIG. 3 shows a side view of a bridge of the low-floor vehicle in the state during loading of the road vehicle
- FIG. 5 shows the locking mechanism according to FIG. 4 in the unlocked state.
- the low-floor vehicle shown in Figure 1 has two three-axle bogies 10 of conventional design, which run on wheels 14 on rails 14 of a rail network.
- the wheel tire diameter of the wheels 12 is 920 mm, in accordance with the standard common in German rail traffic.
- An auxiliary frame 16 is mounted on each bogie 10, which can be rotated about a vertical axis A relative to the bogie and is additionally supported on a slide bearing 18.
- the two subframes 16 are rigidly connected to one another by a bridge 20.
- the bridge 20 forms a support structure for a road vehicle 22.
- the two subframes 16 are arranged in mirror image to one another and are each lowered at their end facing the bridge 20 in such a way that they accommodate the bridge in a position located below the upper side of the bogies 10. This ensures that the loading surface 24, on which the road vehicle 22 is parked and secured in the usual manner, is in a position so low that the total height of the low-floor vehicle with cargo is measured from the rails 14 to the highest point of the road vehicle 22 , is not more than 4 m.
- each subframe 16 has on the lowered a support with four pins 26 distributed across the width, which positively engage in corresponding receptacles on the underside of the bridge 20, so that the bridge 20 together with the road vehicle 22 can be lifted up from the subframe 16 with the aid of a forklift ,
- forklift pockets 28 are formed in the bridge 20 for the fork of the forklift.
- the three-axle bogies 10 can each hold two subframes 16 arranged in mirror image to one another, so that it is possible to link several low-floor vehicles to one train. Each bogie 10 then supports the supporting structures of two low-floor vehicles. At the beginning and at the end of the train, biaxial bogies, not shown, can be used, on the subframe of which are then arranged pulling and pushing devices for coupling a locomotive or other railroad car. Supply lines (not shown), for example for electricity and compressed air, are laid in the bridges 20 and connected to one another by means of tear-off couplings, so that all low-floor vehicles of the train can be supplied with electricity and compressed air.
- the length of an individual low-floor vehicle, measured from center to center of the associated bogies 10, is 25.6 m in the example shown.
- the engagement of the pins 26 in the associated receptacles can take place via elastic damping elements, so that the jerk occurring when starting or braking can be damped more effectively in the event of a longer train.
- the bridge 20 is removed from the subframe 16 with the aid of a forklift and set down on the ground, so that the road vehicle 22 can drive onto the loading area 24 via a ramp 30, as in FIG 3 is shown. Subsequently, the bridge 20 is raised together with the road vehicle 22 and suspended again between the subframes 16 of the bogies 10 fixed at a suitable distance.
- FIG. 4 shows a horizontal section through the bridge 20 at the height of the stacker pockets 28 and illustrates schematically a mechanism for locking the bridge 20 to the pin 26.
- a cross member of the bridge 20 which forms the receptacles for the pin 26
- a strip 32 performed, which engages with horizontally projecting locking bolt 34 in the pin 26 and on in this way the bridge 20 is mechanically locked to the pin 26 so that it cannot be lifted upwards.
- the strip 32 is elastically prestressed into an end position in which the locking bolts 34 are held in engagement with the pins 26.
- the push rod 36 is connected via a lever 40, which is pivotally held on the bridge 20 by a joint 42, to a button 44 which projects into the stacker pocket 28.
- a lever 40 which is pivotally held on the bridge 20 by a joint 42, to a button 44 which projects into the stacker pocket 28.
- the tip of the fork 46 runs onto the ramp-shaped beveled button 44, and the button 44 is pushed back.
- the push rod 36 is adjusted in opposite directions so that the compression spring unit 38 is compressed and the bar 32 is retracted so far that the locking bolts 34 emerge from the pin 26.
- the bridge therefore remains unlocked so that it can be lifted upwards from the pins 26 and thus from the subframe 16 and placed outside the bogies 10.
- the bridge is placed on the subframe 16 again with the aid of the forklift, so that the pins 26 enter the associated receptacles of the bridge again appropriately.
- the bar 32 returns to its locking position under the action of the compression spring unit 38 and the locking bolts 34 re-enter the pins 26.
