Abstract

Des impulsions de pression de haute intensité se propagent vers le bas par un train de forage pour arriver dans un trépan. On peut générer ces impulsions en créant un coup de bélier dans la boue de forage coulante. On augmente l'intensité des impulsions acoustiques dans les buses du trépan. On peut utiliser ces impulsions pour commander le fonctionnement de divers outils de fond de puits. Un premier type d'outils comporte plusieurs pistons montés en série. Des impulsions de haute pression déplacent les pistons pour créer de fortes vibrations mécaniques dans le train de forage, réduisant ainsi les exigences de couple.
