Abstract

A data centre building comprising a ground floor(10), a roof(62) and walls(61), and spaced lower(11) and upper(12) mezzanine floors between the floor and the roof, each mezzanine floor with open decking allowing the passage therethrough of ambient air, capable of supporting power supplies on the upper mezzanine floor, server racks on the lower mezzanine floor and backbone network equipment and edge network equipment on the ground floor, the vertical spacing between the ground floor and the lower mezzanine floor and between the lower and upper mezzanine floors being in each case at least 2 metres. Further, a data centre building is disclosed comprising a floor(10), outer walls(61) and a roof(62), for housing network, server and power supply equipment on open mezzanine flooring within the building, comprising a closed filter chamber(64), windows(66), an air filter(66) and means(63,68) for extracting air through the roof.
