Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine neuartige Vorrichtung zur in situ Messung des Partialdrucks oder der Konzentration intestinalen Stickstoffmonoxids beim Mensch oder Tier. Erfindungsgemäss erzeugt ein elektrochemischer Sensor, der sich in einem Tubus befindet und in den Intestinaltrakt eingeführt werden kann, ein elektrisches Signal, das der Konzentration an NO im Intestinaltrakt proportional ist. Der Sensor wird dabei von einer für NO durchlässigen Membran oder Folie bedeckt. Innerhalb oder ausserhalb des Tubus befindet sich ein elektronischer Potentiostat, der zwischen Referenz- und Messelektrode des elektrochemischen Sensors ein definiertes elektrisches Potential aufbaut und zumindest über die Messdauer hält. Der Tubus ist mit einem Kabel versehen über das das Sensorsignal an eine elektronische Auswerteeinheit weitergeleitet wird, die das Signal registriert und zur Anzeige bringt. Alternativ kann der Tubus einen Sender enthalten, der eine telemetrische Datenübertragung zu einer elektronischen Auswerteeinheit ermöglicht, die sich ausserhalb des menschlichen oder tierischen Körpers befindet.
