Definitions

  • This invention relates to a tracked tug vehicle which is intended to tow a trailer via a fifth wheel coupling provided on the chassis of the tug.
  • a tracked tug can be used for off -road work e.g. on a construction or demolition site when it is required to tow a trailer over rough ground, such a trailer typically incorporating material processing equipment for use on site.

  • Trailer vehicles of this type are usually of substantial length and weight, and therefore require a powerful and highly manoeuvrable tug to move the trailer vehicle from one position on site to another, and which is the reason why a tug having short length tracks (relative to the overall length of the tug / trailer combination) is particularly suitable.
