Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for producing a polypeptide comprising a Duffy binding like (DBL) domain, wherein the method comprises: (i) expressing the polypeptide in a bacterium or as a non-secreted polypeptide in yeast; (ii) extracting the expressed polypeptide from the bacterium or yeast and denaturing the polypeptide; (iii) refolding the extracted polypeptide in the presence of arginine and urea; and optionally (iv) recovering the refolded polypeptide.
