Abstract

The invention relates to filtration techniques, and to methods and devices used in the food, chemical, petrochemical and other industries. The inventive method for dehydrating an aqueous suspension consists in filtrating with the aid of a pressure filter, washing a deposit, drying it by means of gas pressure and blowing channels of the pressure filter with the aid of the gas pressure. Said method is characterised by the fact that the deposit is washed and dried in the shortest path through the thickness thereof. The inventive pressure filter comprises chamber plates and a filter cloth fixed thereto. The chamber plates are provided with closed cavities on both sides. Said pressure filter also comprises channels for supplying the suspension and collectors for removing a filtrate which are connected to the cavities. In the first embodiment, one part of the collectors is connected to the cavities only on one side of each plate with the aid at least of one channel, and another part of collectors is connected to the cavities only of one other side of each plate with the aid of at least one channel. In the second embodiment, one part of the collectors of each plate is connected to the cavities of one plate, and another part of collectors is connected to the cavities of the adjacent plates with the aid of at least one channel. The channels for supplying the suspension are embodied in such a way that they can release air. At least one collector for removing the filtrate is connected to the channel for water and air delivery by means of a stop valve.
