Abstract

The described mixing faucet mixes cold an warm water supplied via vertical lines (66, 67). Each of these vertical lines (66, 67) can be opened independently of each other to a certain degree by manually turning handles (23) which actuates pins (3), which are situated inside the lines (66, 67). Thus the ratio of cold water to warm water and consequently the temperature of the mixed water can be preselected. When water is required the main opening/closing valve is opened by simply turning lever (10). The preselected temperature remains unchanged by turning on and off the faucet using lever (10), which is in contrast to one-lever mixing faucets, which control mixing ratio and flow volume simultaneously with one lever. Wall- and top-mounted models are described. The main opening/closing valve can be of ceramic cartridge- or conventional washer-type.

AMENDED CLAIMS
[received by the Internanonal Bureau on 28 December 2001 (28.12.01); original claim 1 amended; oπginal claims 2, 5 and 8 cancelled; oπgmal claims
3, 4, 6 and 7 amended and renumbered as claims 2, 3, 4 and 5 (2 pages)]
1- MIXING FAUCET with top-mount and wall-mout models each with model either of ceramic cartridge or conventional washer-type cartridge valve characterized in that: a) comprises a body that in its normal mounting position has two symmetrical horizontal holes separate by a small wall and each one crossing a parallel and vertical body hole which diameter is smaller than said horizontal hole. The two said vertical body holes are independently linked to water passages forming two hot and cold water lines. b) comprises two pins (3) each one fitted inside said hoπzontal holes, sealed by O-Rιngs (14); each one pin (3) is connected to a handle (23) that can be manually turned; the pin (3) has a transversal hole (68 or 69) with same diameter of a said vertical body hole and, according to pin (3) round alignement, the water passage by each one vertical body hole is controlled independently at any graduation since close. c) comprises two nuts (22) each one threaded inside a housing in said horizontal hole and positioning longitudinally pin (3) by pressing a O-Ring (14) against it. d) comprises a valve fixed by a castel inside a upper side body housing and mounted with its lower end over said vertical body holes and comprising a stem connected to a lever (10) or handle which manual turn can control the water exit by said vertical body holes at any graduation since close, but with the flow limited by the pins (3) round position.
2. Mixing faucet according to claim 1 characterized in that the top-mount model body is formed by a dowside-body (1) fixed by screws (11) to a main-body (2) that has a spout (63) for water exit; the dowside-body (1) has a external thread for faucet fixation by a external nut and has in its low extremity two threads (64, 65) for be threaded hot and cold water external adapters and which holes are followed by two vertical independent channels (66, 67) and holes with seals (13) joined to said vertical body holes in main- body down side.
3. Mixing faucet according to claim 1 characterized in that the wall- mount model body is formed by two body-extensions pressed to a main-body and comprises a spout (35, 36), two unions (39), two nuts (38), two seals (41) and a connection (47) wall embedded (45) with two symmetrical horizontal threaded holes for external hot and cold water pipping fixation (75, 76) each one linked to a threaded hole where is threaded a union (39); the body-extensions with seal (41) are fixed by nuts (38) to unions (39) which holes (77, 78) are linked to body passages and said vertical body holes, forming two independents hot and cold water lines; otherwise, the distance between the two parallel body- extensions center is the same as between two threaded holes center of the connection (47) and it is less than three times the external body-extensions diameter.
4. Mixing faucet according to claim 1 characterized in that a ceramic cartridge valve comprises a bushing (8), a seal (4), a ceramic fixed disc (5) a ceramic control disc (6), a plastic disc (7), a stem (9) and O-Rings (17, 24, 48); the bushing (8) has O-Ring (24), two lateral holes (71 , 72) and is round positioned by extensions (70); the seal (4) is mounted inside the bushing (8) under the fixed disc (5) both round positioned by extensions (58, 59); the seal (4) is mounted pressing the body and has two holes linking the vertical body holes (79, 80) to fixed disc holes (73, 74); the plastic disc (7), control disc (6), stem (9) and lever are coupled and can be manually turned up to 90° inside the bushing; the plastic disc (7) has two simetrical channels over two control disc cuts and when they are round positioned over two fixed disc holes, these are open and linked to bushing holes (71 , 72) for water exit by a spout, othewise, according to control disc cuts round position, the fixed disc holes aperture changes for water exit at any graduation since close.
5. Mixing faucet according to claim 1 characterized in that a washer-type cartridge valve comprises a bushing (26), a pin (27), a piston (30), two washers (29), two pins (25) and a stem (28) with O-Ring (32); the bushing has a O-Ring (24), is round positioned by pin (27); the piston (30) has threaded a stem (28) coupled with a handle which turn can move the piston only vertically inside the bushing (26); the piston (30) in its down side has two pins (25) fixing two washers (29) that according the piston movement open or close at any graduation the water passages from said vertical body holes to said spout. STATEMENT UNDER ARTICLE 19(1) There was made claims amendments basically joinning claims 1 and 2. Otherwise, in all claims was added same characteristics and details that was lacking and made changer in redaction. Two claims was cancealled because they become unnecessary after the changes made in the others. All reference, component listed and changes made are according to patent description and drawings.
