Abstract

The inventive method for measuring a concentration of optically active substances in solutions with the aid of the faraday rotation angle consists in transmitting modulated plane polarized radiation through an under study solution, and in directing the transmitted radiation towards three polarizing analyzers fitted with image devices. The first and second polarizing analyzers are placed symmetrically with respect to a plane of the plane-polarized radiation penetrating into the solution. The third polarizing analyzer is oriented on the same plane of the plane-polarized radiation penetrating into the solution. Signals received from three image devices are amplified in three channels, synchronously detected, digitized and processed. The measurement of the faraday rotation angle is carried out with respect to correlation, excluding the effect on the end result of a nonidentity of the channels and an inaccurate alignment of the polarizers.
