Abstract
A digital label to be attached to various types of goods for displaying trademarks or logos and enabling the consumers to input and save desired data to display is disclosed. Unlike usual labels which is supplier-oriented, the disclosed digital label is consumer-oriented using LCD to create diverse characters. The digital label comprises an LCD (4) driven for displaying letters or graphics, a body (2) having several input keys (5) for inputting or controlling what to be displayed and a supporter (17) to be fixed to the goods for detachably supporting the body, providing more various product information including supplier's brand and logo. The LCD is controlled to display trademarks or logos and what is inputted by the consumers using micro-computer's multi-functional processes. Saving and displaying various product's information such as trademarks and logos, the digital label contributes to effectively building up reliability of the consumers. It also enables the consumers to input and save by themselves what they want to display. With these functions, this digital label can satisfy varying desires of the consumers in a consumer-oriented way.

[ Detailed Disclosure of the Invention]
It is an object of the present invention to provide a digital label to display more information including trademarks or logos of the goods and to enable the consumers to input, save and display as they want by using flat displaying device like Liquid Crystal Displayer(LCD) so that the consumers themselves create their own character in addition to traditional distinguishing function. In order to accomplish the object, the present invention presents a label comprising a body wherein a displaying device for displaying letters or graphics, at least one input key for selecting operation and a driving circuit for driving displaying device according to the operation of input keys; and a supporter which detachably supports the body. The displaying device is preferably LCD and also flat displaying device including fluorescent diplayer panel or plasma displayer operated by electric signal can be used too. More preferably, flexible device can be used for the LCD taking into account that the material of clothes, hats and bags are not solid. The driving circuit of the displaying device operates to save or select for displaying various information of the goods including trademark, logo and other information inputted by the user along with program data in the embedded or separated memory using multiple processing tools of the microcomputer. The digital label according to this invention can effectively build up
trust of the consumers by providing various information of the goods (e. g., product number, certificate number or a/s phone number) in addition to trademarks and/or logos and also enables the customers to input necessary information and characters for themselves. Therefore, unlike the supplier-oriented usual label, the digital label can meet the various needs of the consumers in a consumer-oriented way.

[Modes for Carrying out the Invention]
The digital label of the present invention is affixed to clothes, hats and bags by conventional ways of using adhesive or sewing. Other adhering means like buttons or pins are also available. This label is, of course, also attachable to electronic home appliances, office goods, goods for leisure.
The digital label of the present invention is constructed with a body(2) and a supporter(7) as shown in Fig. 2. The body(2) comprises a panel(3) in elliptical shape, an LCD(4) surrounded by the panel(3), a plurality of input
keys(5), and a body case(6) containing a driving circuit as illustrated in the Fig 5 The body case(6) has screw-driven caps(9, 10) in the rear for easy change of enclosed small-sized batterιes(7, 8) which supply power to the driving circuit and has, as shown in the Fig 3, a πm portιon(11 ) at which the body case(6) is detachably inserted, and a groove portιon(12) having a semicircular groove formed along with the rim portιon(11 ) Referring to the Fig 3, a circuit base panel(13) encompassing the LCD(4) is installed inside the body case(6) with a transparent protecting cover(14) to protect the LCD(4) In the circuit base panel(13), parts for the driving circuit of the LCD(4) are mounted and a contacting pattern(15) corresponding to the input keys(5) and contacting poιnts(16) of the batteπes(7, 8) are printed or installed thereon The panel(3) and the body case(6) are assembled by adhesive or bolting connection
The supporter(17) is for supporting the body(2) detachable from the front and also for being attached to material of the goods, comprising a base(18) to be fixed to the material by sewing and a body holder(19) adhered to the base(18) The base(18) can be made by synthetic resin such as polypropylene or polyethylene, or leather The body holder(19) made by an elastic material such as rubber having a inner rim portιon(20) open to be easily and closely combined with the rim portιon(11 ) of the body case(6) A protrusion portιon(21 ) with protuberant ridge having semicircular section is formed along the inner rim portιon(20) to be inserted into the groove portιon(12) of the body case(6) Reference No 22 of the Fig 3 illustrates thread after sewing It is, of course, possible to substitute the supporter(17) with other fixing tools such as buttons or pins
Combined with the body holder(19) of the supporter(17) which is sewed on the the material of the goods such as clothes, hats or bags as shown in the Fig 3, the body(2) is hooked at the groove portιon(21 ) on the inner rim portιon(20) of the body holder(19) so that it shall not be
accidentally released from the body holder(19) unless it is pushed by force from outside When it is necessary to disassemble the body(2) from the supporter(17) for washing or changing the batterιes(7, 8), the body(2) can be separated by applying force forward from the inside of the mateπal(23) of the goods As the body holder(19) is of elastic material, with the force the inner rim portιon(20) is widened so that the protrusion portιon(21 ) of the body holder(19) is released and separated from the groove portιon(12) of the body case(6)

by keystroke, an oscιllator(33) for generating clock pulse according to the control of the mιrco-computer(30), a displaying portιon(34) having the LCD(4) for displaying saved or inputted data subject to the control of the mιcro-computer(30), and a back lιght(35) to lightening the LCD(4) of the displaying portιon(34) to make it perceivable in the darkness Here, the mιcro-computer(30) usually has an embedded memory In this case, the aforementioned memory(32) is not needed

As explained in the above embodiment, the digital label according to the present invention can provide more various product information including supplier's brand and logo so that it can effectively build up reliability from the consumers In addition, consumers by themselves can input and display figures and letters what they want so that the label works in a consumer-oriented way to meet their varying request Therefore, it works well for enhancing product's reliability and advertisement to attract consumer's attention to buy the products
Also this digital label according to the present invention is effective in public relations when it used for a uniform of an organization or company It
can be also used as a name tag. In addition to the functions as a label, the digital label according to this invention can be used as a sales promotion gift or accessory such as breastpin, buckle, key holder.
Claims
[What is claimed is] 1 A digital label comprising, a body having a displaying device driven for displaying letters or graphics, one or more input keys for inputting or controlling what is displayed in the displaying device, a driving circuit for driving the displaying device, and a supporter attached to the goods for detachably supporting the body
2 A digital label as in claim 1 wherein the body further comprises a panel which surrounds the displaying device with the input keys installed thereon, a body case for accommodating the displaying device and parts of the driving circuit, and the supporter further comprises a base for fixing the digital label to the material of the goods and a body holder fixed to the base for supporting the body case to be forwardly detachable
3 A digital label as in claim 1 wherein the body further comprises a panel which surrounds the displaying device with the input keys installed thereon, a body case for accommodating the displaying device and parts of the driving circuit, and the supporter further comprises a base for fixing the digital label to the material of the goods and a body holder fixed to the base for supporting the body case to be detachable backward to the direction of the goods
4 A digital label as in claim 2 or 3 wherein a projected portion and a groove portion corresponding thereto are formed respectively on the body case and the body holder
5 A digital label as in claim 1 further comprises a transparent protecting cover for protecting the displaying device.
6. A digital label as in claim 1 wherein the driving circuit comprises a memory for saving information including the trademark or logo, a key portion for inputting to or selecting information from the memory by operating one or more input keys, a microprocessor having a controlling routine for processing information inputted or selected by the key portion to be displayed on the displaying device.
7. A digital label as in claim 6, wherein the microprocessor further comprises a routine for saving the information inputted by the key portion at the memory.
8. A digital label as in claim 1 further comprising a back light for illuminating the displaying device to be readable in the darkness, and means for controlling on-and-off of the back light.
