Abstract
The invention relates to a method for adjusting the operation of an internal combustion engine (34), especially a vehicle internal combustion engine. Said method comprises the following steps: determining at least one parameter for establishing a combustion process limit of the internal combustion engine, respectively; determining at least one correcting variable for adjusting the internal combustion engine, up to the maximum of the combustion process limit; establishing the combustion process limit; adjusting the correcting variable; and regulating the adjustment of the operation of the internal combustion engine, up to the maximum of the combustion process limit.
