Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de gestion de présence permettant de gérer les connexions entre des parties observatrices et des parties observées dans un réseau de communication à accès multiple. Lorsque le système de gestion de présence reçoit une demande de contact en provenance d'une partie observatrice, il détermine si la partie observée demandée est disponible pour l'établissement d'un contact. Le système fournit ensuite une information concernant cette disponibilité à la partie observatrice à l'origine de la demande. Le système de gestion de présence choisit le meilleur mode de communication (p. ex. courrier électronique ou fax) en prenant en compte les préférences de la partie observée et des indications concernant les installations à disposition de la partie observatrice. Si le système de gestion de présence informe la partie observatrice que la partie observée est indisponible, la partie observatrice peut activer un système de surveillance. Pour déterminer si la partie observée demandée est disponible pour d'établissement d'un contact, ce système de gestion de présence utilise des informations mémorisées concernant la partie observée, des informations concernant la connexion demandée (p. ex. importance et type) ainsi que des règles. Le système fait en outre appel à des informations concernant des événements associés au réseau à accès multiple, par exemple la position géographique des téléphones mobiles de la partie observée. Dans les réalisations préférées, le système de gestion de présence peut accéder à des informations relatives à des applications de tiers, par exemple des informations concernant des transactions par carte de crédit et des utilisations de cartes d'appel. Ces informations de haut niveau fournissent des détails précis et récents concernant la position et les activités de la partie observée. L'utilisation de ces informations permet d'améliorer la performance et les capacités de ce système de gestion de présence.
