Abstract

A multiple drawer charnel unit for accommodating a plurality of lockable drawers with each drawer for receiving and storing human bone powder envelopes and having a knob for opening and closing the drawer, a stone plate front of the drawer for carving or printing a person's name, date of birth, death date, and management number and a lid to cover the drawer is disclosed. The plurality of drawers are slidably positioned behind a pair of lockable pull doors secured to the charnel unit by hinges, with each door having a window pane through which to view each drawer front, such that, in use, the doors can be opened and each drawer can be slidably withdrawn to permit entry via the lid to the envelopes stored in each drawer. A plate is attached to each envelope affixing a photo and brief history of the person. The charnel unit may also include compartments for positioning an anti-worm agent, an anti-moisture agent and an aroma agent.

MULTIPLE DRAWER-TYPE CHARNEL UNIT

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a multiple drawer-type charnel unit, and more particularly to a multiple drawer-type charnel unit having a multiple of drawers to contain for powder of human bone in which bone powder envelope is can be contained which is smaller than bone urn, and push doors which having window panes. The multiple drawer-type charnel unit can be stacked each other to set up the charnel house.

DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART

In the past, bone powder or bone of human is put in an urn and placed on the rack of the charnel house in general. The size of such urn-type charnel box is pretty large, so it is limited to storage of such urn-type charnel box in a small area in a large quantity. Also, it is not easy to handle the urn-type charnel box because they are heavy and brittle in the property of the urn.

For example, such urn-type charnel box is disclosed in the laid- open publication of the Korean Utility Model No. 97-58619. In the disclosure, which is relates to a charnel box can be stacked in a multiple layer and can be put a number of human bone or bone powder which can be used to public. The urn-type charnel box having a guide groove is formed on any one of the sides and bottom of the body of the box in which can be put the human bone or bone powder, guide member are formed on the other side of the box and upper side, doors and key are formed on the front side of the box, first and second receptors in which can be put the name plate are formed respectively on the upper portion and lower portion of the doors, and the third receptor in which can be put the photo of the enshrined person is formed in the inner side of the box. However, such urn-type charnel box involved problems of moisture proof, deodorization, and moth-proof since the box is formed as an open type. Therefore, it is not proper to the person want to enshrine their ancestors more courteously and solemnly. Also, such urn-type charnel box is relatively large in size, accordingly, it is not space saving so it is not possible to accommodate in the church or urban charnel house.

Therefore, it is an object of the present invention is to provide a multiple drawer type charnel unit having a number of drawer in which can be put multi ply envelope to put a human bone powder and whole size of the unit is quiet small resolving the above-described problems. The another object of the present invention is to provide a multiple drawer-type charnel unit having compartments at the each sides of drawer can be put an agent for moisture-proof, agent for an anti worms, aroma agent to protect moisture, worm and bad smell. The still another object of the present invention is to provide a multiple drawer-type charnel unit, an unit can be stored a certain number of human bone powder envelopes so as to enshrine a family or a group and the unit can be stacked each other in a row.

The still another object of the present invention is to provide a multiple drawer-type charnel unit having pull-type doors are provided with the transparent panes to see inside of the drawer of the unit.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

To achieve the above-mentioned objects of the present invention, a multiple drawer-type charnel unit according to the present invention is characterized in that a unit have a number of drawers, the drawers have compartments in which aroma, anti moisture agent, and anti worm agent, receptor for stone or crystal monument are provided in the front side of the drawers, the drawer acceptable an envelope of human bone powder, upper groove is formed in upper side of knob of the drawer to grasp by thumb and lower groove is formed in the lower side of knob of the drawer to grasp by the index finger, keys are installed in each drawers, dovetail and mating groove for mortise and tenon joint for stacking the several unit in row and in column direction, doors are installed in the front side of the unit and the doors having the transparent panes to see inside of the unit.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The body 10 of the multiple drawer- type charnel unit are provided with a four mortise holes 12, 14 in the upper side and left side at the corner of the body 10 respectively, four dovetails 11, 13 in the lower side and right side of the body 10 respectively, to fitted with the mortise hole of the mating unit. Accordingly, a number of charnel unit can be stacked in a row and column direction by mortise and dovetail joint as desired.

Human bone powder drawers 15 are installed in the body 10 of the multiple drawer-type charnel unit. The size, row, and the number of drawer 15 can be variable to fit the specific requirements. In this embodiment, drawer set up 2 in row and 7 in column to comply with the family or group in view of the degree of easy of assembly and a number of family and small group. However, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment rather can be variable as desired by user. Lock 16 is installed at the side of each drawer 15 so as can not be access by the other people. The location of the lock 16 is not limited to this but would be installable any place to achieve the purpose of protect a thief.

In case of the locks 16 are installed in the drawers 15 of the body 10, the appearance, management of the unit are not good and not easy. The pull-type doors 18 are installed by hinge 17, the door 18 can be opened in case of the neighboring unit are put together by mortise and dovetail joint. The door 18 have a relatively big hole and pane 19 is installed to see inside of the unit. Knob 20 is installed on the door 18. For security and management, lock 21 is installed in the door 18. Fig. 2 is a perspective exploded view of the drawer according to the present invention.

Name, date of birth, death date, and managing number of the enshrined person can be carved or print on the front face of the name plate 27. Knob 29 is formed integrate or separately at the lower front of the drawer 15 for open and close the drawer 15. Upper groove 34 is able to grasp by thumb is formed on the upper side of the knob and lower groove 35 is able to grasp by the index finger is formed on the lower side of the knob. However, it is not limited to this style but only for example. Cover 30 will be covers human bone powder compartment 26 after put the envelope 32 to the drawer 15 of the unit. Plate 30 is printed a photo and brief history of enshrined person is put on the cover 30. Instead of this type of envelope, china ware, metal or plastic container could be used for store a human bone powder, then seal the cap and put a photo together in the compartment 26.

Fig. 3 is a view of the one example of the envelope 32 to put human bone powder according to the present invention. The size of the envelope 32 is set to variable to man , women, race, etc. The envelope 32 is made by wax paper(so called Korean paper) is most preferred but not to limited to this. For safety reason, multiple ply of the wax papers can be used for envelope.

Fig. 4 is a partial view of the ventilation hole 33 of the compartment 23 to put aroma or anti agent for worm in the drawer 15 according to the present invention. The shape of the ventilation hole 33 is an elliptical, circle, rectangular, etc. Also, such ventilation hole 33 are formed in the anti moth compartment and aroma compartment.

Fig. 5 is an another embodiment of the compartment to put aroma or anti worm agent of the drawer 15 according to the present invention. In the drawer 15 as described in referenced to Fig. 2, anti moisture agent compartment 23, anti worm agent compartment 24, and aroma compartment 25 are formed in the front and rear end of the drawer 15. In the Fig. 5, the anti worm compartment 34, aroma compartment 35 are formed in the left and right side of the drawer 15 in addition to to the embodiment to Fig. 2, respectively. If necessary, aroma compartment, anti worm agent compartment and anti moisture agent compartment are interchangeable or can be put a certain amount of the agents together in a compartment.

Fig. 6 is a front and back view of the photo and a brief history plate 31 of the enshrined person. In the plate 31, a photo, family photo, special event photo can be affix or print on the front face, and brief history of the enshrined person on the back face of the plate. The Plate 31 stored in the drawer 15 in ordinary times and take out and stand it in the ritual site when performed a rite. As described above, the multiple drawer-type charnel unit according to the present invention have effects as follows:

Charnel unit can be manufactured as an unit having mortise and dovetail, so it is very easy to assemble and disassemble the units by mortise and tenon joint in row and column direction so as to fit the space to set the charnel unit.

It is space saving to use a human bone envelope and drawer, instead of bulky urn-type charnel box is space consuming in the past. Large number of person can be enshrined in limited space and cost saving. It is compare to the past, it would be one fifth to one eighth. Aroma, anti worm agent, and anti moisture agent put together in the drawer so it is possible to prevent a bad odor, worm and moisture proof, it is good for sanitary and good to get rid of hatred.

It is possible to boost a dignity of the enshrined person and owner of the unit to put the stone or crystal name plate in the front of the drawer. It provide a convenient to open and close of the drawer by having a knob are formed an upper groove grasp by thumb and lower groove grasp by index finger.

It provide a pleasant to the visitors by installing an door having pane and provide safety by installing the lock in the door.

Various modification of the disclosed embodiments will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is therefore, contemplated that the appended claims will cover any modifications or embodiments as fall within the true scope of the present invention.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A multiple drawer-type charnel unit comprising: a plurality of the drawers for human bone powder envelope can be stored, said drawer have a knob for open and close the drawer, a stone name plate in front of the drawer in which name of the person, date of birth, death date, and management number, etc are carved or printed; a charnel unit body for accommodate a certain number of the drawers; four dovetails on the upper side and left side of the body and four mortises in the lower side and right side of the body for mortise and tenon joint in row and column direction; locks are installed in each of the drawers and doors; pull type doors are installed by hinge to the body and said door having a pane to see inside of the unit, locks , and knobs;

Human bone powder envelope for put the human bone powdwer and stored in the drawer;

A plate for print or affix for the photo and brief history of the person; and a lid of the drawer to covers the drawer.

2. A multiple drawer-type charnel unit according to claim 1, wherein anti worm agent compartment, anti moisture agent compartment, and aroma compartment are formed in the front, rear and sides of the drawer, and the compartments having a plurality of hole in eclipse or circle.

3. A multiple drawer- type charnel unit according to claim 2, further comprising a aroma compartment and anti worm compartment in a drawer.

4. A multiple drawer-type charnel unit according to claim 1, wherein in the knob having an upper groove for grasp by thumb and lower groove for grasp by an index finger.

5. A multiple drawer- type charnel unit according to claim 1, wherein name plate can be formed by plastic, stainless steel, wood, or any other suitable materials.
