Abstract

The inventive system for covering and temporarily protecting turf comprises a system of panels consisting of polyethylene containing an anti-UV agent, an antistatic agent and a self-extinguishing agent. The fact that these panels can be rapidly installed and assembled means that they can be used to protect large areas of turf surfaces and at the same time, provide platforms for receiving the public (e.g., in stadiums or hippodromes). The panels are joined by semi-oval-shaped polyamide clips. Each panel is formed by a non-slip surface with slight gutters allowing the water to run off and with 200 milled holes which allow the daylight and air to infiltrate the panels and provide resistance to high temperatures while preserving the turf.
