Abstract

The toothbrush holder consists of two movable, elastic grip arms (1) provided with a foot in the form of a suction cup (5). With an open grip, the holder can hold a toothbrush in two different, mutually perpendicular positions in relation to the suction cup. Between the grip arms there is a hollow (2), creating a gap for the handle (7) of a toothbrush. At the ends of the grip arms there is an opening (3) which opens straight out from the holder and is enclosed by clutches (4) bearing on each other. The toothbrush is held in position in the hollow by inserting the handle between the grip arms (1) through the gable openings or the opening (3) at the ends of the grip arms. At the same time, the clutches (4) prevent the handle from slipping out of position. The grip arms are adjusted for different occurring handles, and permit a great possibility of variation in the keeping of toothbrushes. Preferably, the holder can be made out of plastic or rubber and can, for example, be manufactured in one piece.

Description

Toothbrush holder
The toothbrush holder is usually kept in a glass, placed on the washbasin or on a shelf in the bathroom cabinet. Unfortunately, almost immediately a lot of deposit will accumulate in the glass, something which looks unpleasant and can lead to a breeding ground for an insanitary production of bacteria. Of course you can avoid these deposits by washing the glass each time you have brushed your teeth. The toothbrush is also usually kept lying loose on the washbasin, which more often than not results in its flying or rolling about and being a nuisance during other doings. The whole thing won't be better if several toothbrushes share the space, whether it's in a glass or at some other place. Even if there are special appliances for the keeping of toothbrushes there should be room for further facilities. Especially in families comprising many members, the need for help in organising among other things toothbrushes will probably be great.
To facilitate the keeping of the toothbrush there is a need for an appliance that can be placed in a way that is hygienic, practical and organising. This invention solves this need by a holder with an open grip, that can grip and hold a toothbrush. In accordance with the invention, this is done by the holder consisting of two elastic, movable grip arms provided with a foot in the form of a suction cup. Between the grip arms there is a hollow, creating a gap for the handle of a toothbrush. At the ends of the grip arms there is also an opening which opens straight out from the holder and is enclosed by clutches bearing on each other.
When the invention is to be used to keep a toothbrush, fix it with the suction cup on, for example, a washbasin. Then you insert the handle of the toothbrush through the opening of the holder, in doing which the grip arms glide apart, permitting the handle to glide into the hollow. The opening facilitates for the handle to glide in between the grip arms, at the same time as the elastic grip arms press against the handle so that it is held fast firmly. The toothbrush is held in place in the hollow by the handle being inserted between the grip arms through the gable openings, or the opening at the ends of the grip arms. At the same time, the clutches prevent the handle from slipping out of position.
The grip arms are adjusted for different occurring handles, and permit a great possibility of variation in the keeping of toothbrushes. Preferably, the holder can be made out of plastic or rubber and can, for example, be manufactured in one piece.
Further advantages and characteristics of this invention will be seen in greater detail in a further description in a present sample, in connection with the enclosed drawings.
At this, Figure 1 shows a holder, according to the invention, in perspective view. Figure 2 shows, according to the invention, the holder in a working position with part of the handle of a toothbrush. Figure 3 shows, according to the invention, the holder in a second working position.
In Figure 1 are shown the grip arms 1 of the holder. Between the grip arms there is a hollow 2. At the ends of the grip arms there is an opening 3, which opens straight out from the holder and is enclosed by clutches 4 bearing on each other. At the bottom, the foot of the holder has the form of a suction cup 5.
Further in Figure 2, the holder is fixed standing vertically by means of the suction cup 5 on a washbasin 6, and where the end of a toothbrush handle 7 is placed standing vertically in the holder and held in place by the grip arms 1 and the clutches 4.
Finally, in Figure 3, the holder is shown placed by means of the suction cup 5 on a tiled wall 8, and where the handle 7 is held in place parallel to the surface onto which the suction cup is attached by the grip arms 1 and the clutches 4.
Even if the invention has been described with reference to special forms of design, it should be obvious to a professional that it can be modified in different ways as to figuring and manufacturing.

Claims

C la i m s
1. Holder for toothbrushes, especially designed for holding and keeping a toothbrush, characteristics being that it consists of two movable elastic grip arms (1) with a foot in the form of a suction cup (5), which with known function can hold fast the appliance on, for example, a washbasin (6), and that the grip arms (1) by a springing function can hold fast a toothbrush in a hollow (2) which is designed so that there is room for the handle (7) of a toothbrush in a position parallel to the surface onto which the suction cup is attached, and that at the ends of the grip arms there is an opening (3) which opens straight out from the holder and is enclosed by clutches (4) bearing on each other, which prevent the handle (7) from slipping out of a position between the grip arms (1) perpendicular to the surface onto which the suction cup is attached, so that a toothbrush can be held fast in two different, mutually perpendicular positions in relation to the suction cup.
2. Holder for toothbrushes in accordance with claim 1, characteristics being that the holder is of plastic or rubber.
3. Holder in accordance with claim 1 or 2, characteristics being that the holder is manufactured in one piece, or at least two pieces that can be joined to one unit.
