Abstract

The invention relates to the steering of road vehicles and ensures a necessary difference in steering angles α and β of steerable wheels irrespective of the type of steering mechanism used. The object of the invention can be used in the steering mechanism or separately and can be installed between the steering wheel and the drive of the vehicle wheels. When the user turns the steering wheel (4) in any direction, said wheel rotates a pinion (1) by means of a shaft (3) and displaces a rack (2) in a horizontal plane, whereby said rack rotates pinions (5 and 6), the speed of rotation thereof being different according to the eccentricity (ellipsoid form) or normality of said pinions. As a result, steering track rods (9 and 10) driven by pinions (5 and 6) at different speeds transfer the movement by means of shafts (7 and 8), with different tilts, to ball joints (11 and 12), rods (13 and 14), rotating levers (15 and 16) and finally to right and left steerable wheels. The invention makes it possible to increase stability, maneuverability and roadability of road transport vehicles in addition to improving operating characteristics of wheel tires.
