Description

The invention relates to a radio telephone with an integrated clock.
Conventional radio telephones, such as mobile telephones operated in the cellular network or cordless telephones operated in the local network, usually do not have an internal clock. If an internal clock is integrated in the radio telephone, a quartz-controlled clock is implemented, the accuracy of which is limited by the components used, in particular by the clock quartz. The clock must be set manually. In order to prevent the clock from having to be reset after a replacement of the supply battery for the radio telephone or after a complete discharge of the supply battery, an additional battery is required for the operation of the clock. Button cells are used for this purpose, which increases the price of the radio telephone, the function of the watch is determined by the durability of the button cell, and problems and costs arise in the disposal of old radio telephones.
To solve these problems, a radio telephone with an integrated clock is proposed, which has a radio clock receiver for receiving and evaluating a synchronization nization time signal for the integrated clock.
The radio telephone is thus expanded so that it can receive and evaluate a real-time transmitter, for example the transmitter DCF77 from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig. As a result, the integrated clock can be synchronized and set automatically, so that no additional battery is required to maintain clock operation. Time zone shifts that may need to be taken into account can be taken into account by entering a time offset when displaying the time.
Die Synchronisation erfolgt vorteilhafterweise in festgelegten Zeit- intervallen und insbesondere nach dem Einschalten desThe radio telephone advantageously has a quartz-controlled integrated clock which is synchronized by the radio clock receiver and a control device with the aid of the received and evaluated synchronization time signals from the real-time transmitter. The synchronization advantageously takes place at fixed time intervals and in particular after the
Radio telephones and / or after the supply battery for the radio telephone has been completely discharged or a new supply battery has been connected to the radio telephone after the radio telephone has been without a power supply for a while.
Es zeigt:The radio clock receiver consists of an antenna, an oscillating circuit and a receiver for the synchronization time signal. The receiver for the synchronization time signal and the receiver for the radio telephone are advantageously one unit. Here, the receiver and the evaluation for the synchronization time signal can be integrated in the baseband receiver chip of the radio telephone. This has the advantage that receiver functions can be used several times both for the radio clock receiver and for the receiver for the radio telephone. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. It shows:
